The assembly line of the T-90S / SK tanks will be delivered to the Egyptian army in 2019.

Production will begin immediately after the Russian parts are received from the "Ural Vagon Zavod" plant in the last trimester of 2019, according to our information.

Egypt will assemble 400 tanks, half of which will be SKD (simple installation) and the other half will be in CKD format (installation and welding of some components).

Although there will be no local integration process, the assembly line will allow the T-90S / SK tanks to be maintained in appropriate operational conditions.

It should be noted that Egypt has obtained the license to assemble the T-90S / SK tanks on its territory at the rate of 50 tanks every year.. from 2019 to the year 2026.

On another level, it appears that the Egyptian army has begun to employ Kamov Ka-52 helicopters in its military operations in the Sinai region.

Egypt obtained US approval in 1984 to build a tank production plant.

It was agreed that Egypt will also produce a 120mm tank cannon as well as a gradual increase in the manufacturing of the tank components at the 200 war factory. Egyptian officials said the goal was to make Cairo self-sufficient in the production of the tank, and we have already reached 90 percent of the tank locally.

Under this initial agreement, Egypt made 1,500 M1A1 tanks. Six production cycles were initially established, with each course increasing the level of technology transferred from General Dynamics Land Systems.

The same will happen with the T-90 MS.. only most likely in bigger numbers..

After the peace treaty with Israel in 1979, why they need so many arms who are they going to fight now?

Is Canada or the US going to fight anyone now?
Countries arm themselves for self protection..and Egypt has a lot of assets to protect.. mostly with the new gas discoveries..

One new discovery predicts 5 trillion cubic feet of gas..There are other discoveries on the way and search is going on in 14 other sites..

The end of the T90..It died before reaching puberty..

What the purpose of Having more tanks...outdated...
Can't Egypt find a way to Upgrade those Abrams... instead of wasting money on another outdated T-90?
T90 outdated? And the the Abrams is a young buck...hhhh:coffee::coffee:
@Gomig-21 , you should send Menadefense a bushel of fava beans...he wrote something nice about Egypt..

lol you remembered that. What the hell is it shooting at, a helicopter? :sarcastic:

It's not a bad looking tank, especially in this color scheme and if it's equipped with all remote stations and APS, it would make more sense that maybe they're thinking of dedicating a whole new strategy of fighting urban missions etc., and the rest of the fleet would be geared for wide open rapid deployment engagements just like they've been training on for the last 20+ years. But it still creates a logistical nightmare that only makes it harder on themselves.

After the peace treaty with Israel in 1979, why they need so many arms who are they going to fight now?

Honestly, this deal has the majority of us scratching our heads. Even in Arabic forums the general consensus is optimism in the sense that Egypt is tooling tanks from a different source other than the US, but even that strategy in its basic form is not enough to justify not only the type selected, but the platform in general. It's a strange thing they're doing and if we're able to get a hold of the cost of the deal, I can guarantee you that there are at least 12 other fields that we could easily come up with that could use the priority of the expenditure. I would put a land & naval SAR division that would include an entirely new medivac and ambulatory corp which seems to be largely lacking. Tanks are not.

They need 4 Armoured divisions to protect their gas discoveries!!! Must be the discovery of the century which nobody knew! anyways congrats to them.

And that's just these 400 tanks. The AFs have close to 4,000 tanks between the Abrams, M-60A3s and the older T-62s. Hopefully it's a means to another end. That's what most of us are seriously wishing is the game plan.

I sent him a thank you card for always making me laugh.

Then he is not that far from his mark ..that Egypt is the big bully that can’t bully anybody....
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
I think,Egypt should buy every freaking tank that the Sauds will agree to buy and build a tall wall with them , around entire Egypt...just as Israel did with concrete....

The more important question. Why the jump from 105/115mm guns to 125mm?

Considering they're still likely going to be used for fire support by Mechanised Infantry, why did they need the sudden jump in firepower and protection.
