That will give the EAF some very strong capabilities, let us think about it. That is 48 Mig29/35s, 60 Mirage2k-9s and aroud 225 F-16s for a total of 335 medium weight fighters.Their Mig 21s/J-7s will be replaced by Mig-29/35s and Mirage-iii with UAE's Mirage-2k-9s. Forget Egypt. I think Sisi is pissed at us for inviting Morsi.

The missing link is a light fighter and that will be the JF-17 in all logical probability.
Can you say why or it is just your statement based on ...well nothing.I don't think so.

I do prefer an answer with some justifiable facts, and I do not expect an empty answer from the site's administrator himself.
Politics and needs are forgiving, The supremacy is given to the needs of a nation. Besides that Morsi was the elected president, and many nations have hosted him, not just Pakistan.I believe EAF will not go for so many dissimilar platforms and Sisi is pissed off with us over us hosting Mohammed Morsi during his tenure.

I still think that the JF-17 will be produced/inducted by middle eastern nations with a JV between them, Pakistan and China. GCC will get involved in a back seat, since this JV can be a failsafe program for future needs and circumstances. The more countries will get involved the more potent the fighter jet will get and the more experience these nations will get, share and gain.
They can get JF-17 with TOT along with latest Chinese missiles they will go for itDon't think so. They are going after Mig-29s.
Hopefully it will go through, Egypt will most probably need it for strategic as well as tactical reasons. It has always had its Mig-21s in the forefront accompanied by the Mig-23s for aerial battles. So a mix of JF-17s and Mig-29s will keep the configuration, adding higher capabilities this time. The F-16s and Mg-35s will constitute the high end of the EAF.I highly doubt it with Egypt. We would like to have this deal go through though.

Thought that Jordan expressed interest this time, not Egypt.
Well I agree I think Egypt will sure go for it first because its good 4th Generation fighter jet than it has BVR capability and finally they can get it with TOT which will be huge boost for them .Usually, when Egypt phase out a jet, they replace it with an aircraft made by the same country that made the older ones, they're are going for new Russian Mig's to replace the Russian Mig-21's , and they are just lately going for French Rafale to replace the French Mirage V , so, there's 74 Chinese J-7's , and 60 Mig-21's , i don't think they will replace 130 jets with 24 Mig-29M2 and 24 Mig-35 ! that will leave a gap. it's very likely that they will replace the Chinese J-7's , with the Chinese/Pakistani JF-17.
And let me take your memory back about 2 or 3 years ago, what country was the first one to negotiate JF-17 with Pakistan ? it was Egypt ! and the report says "We were in negotiations with a ME country before, but the political situation over there has delayed the deal, BUT WE STILL EXPECT THEM TO BE OUR FIRST FOREIGN CLIENT"
