LGB are different from this glide bomb.

LGB range is limited

Glide bomb range depends on the height and speed it is launched and doesn't depend on laser illumination

We will have plenty of options in Five years INCLUDING our own
DRDO desi bombs just like this one tested today and Sudarshan
and of course Israeli and Russian since the MMRCA
contract allows munitions of IAF's choice

So Sudharsan is also not in full production.
Our sleepy govt figured out the advantage of LGB during Kargil War.Back then they bought 100 bomb kits with 1 crore for each from Israel.

1000 kg glide bomb .. that's a big one

Would be useful for huge bombing campaign.

1000kg PGM are most likely for hardened targets

but we need PGMs like spear / spice 250 PGMs
which have stand off range of 100km , with quad rack luancher, capable of targeting both static/ mobile ground naval targets
which would be very useful in future SEAD /CAS missions

lets hope DRDO develops such system in future
