DRDO EMB-145i AEWCS export to Indonesia!!!

.
I'm curious to know if India will export this product as complete package or as radar only. In case the whole product (aircraft and radar package) is presented for sale, there would have to be some kind of 3 party agreement between Brazil, India and the customer.
But it is surely a great news!

Maybe PT Dirgantara Indonesia is going to use C-295 as platform (we have cooperation with Airbus to produce this plane as well). If possible of course, well lets see what will be the result.........If we use C-295 as platform so there will be parliament support to produce more in the future, and the cooperation with India can be more widen.

Arey bhai kissie per tu tajoorba kerna hai, just like dhruv, Ecuador must be cursing himself now, I hope Indonesia would not commit suicide and would learn something from them.

Beside C-295 is too small @Indos , C-295 is lacking in range and respond speed capability when compared to this Embraer plane. Even i think Air Force has requirement about Wedgetail for their AEW/AWACS aircraft in near future.

If wikipedia is to be believed, Indonesia has only a grand total of 31 combat aircrafts that can be linked to an AEWACS. (Su-27, Su-30, F-16). Another 19 F-16s are expected in future. These numbers do not justify the purchase of an expensive C&C system like the Boeing wedgetail. DRDO AWACS provides all the capability you would need for a fraction of the cost. Indonesia would do better to spend the money thus saved on a few maritime patrol aircrafts, given the country's geography.

To small & this Indo-Brazillian system will ensure maximum capability to Indonesia at a fraction of cost of what the West or Russians will thrown in

That would be available only with the Phalcon radar, DRDO's system is only available on the EMB platform so far. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Air Force doesn't have tanker aircrafts yet right? What about military satellites, to make use of the SATCOM system of the DRDO AWACS (if offered)?

Yes, I agree with Madokaft, I just give something that maybe being brought as one of the option from our side

Yes, we have tanker already, if I am not mistaken we have already had it since 80's

Nope, we haven had any military satellite so far, our Armed Force just using communication satellites run by our state owned companies or maybe they also use micro satellite made by our agency. In 2014 the budget for buying one has already been prepared, but not yet bought, there is a worry buying military satellite from other country, so maybe they want to wait until our aerospace agency (LAPAN) make it, if this option is taken, so we have to wait until 2019 for LAPAN make a sophisticated one.

That's way i stated it for near future, not today sir

We had securing funding for another 4 squadron fighter for plan 2014-2024 programme and even we had building the Air bases and ground support unit and maintenance to realize the plan. That's why i thing that's time (around 2019-2024) will be the most appropriate time

Maybe we will taking Israeli offer of their MMTT program to conver second hand commercial aircraft for Future Air Refueling programme. Their offer still in study though

Interesting, that would obviously benefit an AWACS platform with refueling probe, which the EMB 145 as well as the C295 offer, but basically rules out the E-2D. Not to mention that the DRDO and the Phalcon systems might have advantages in linking with the Flankers.

what am I missing here? All it says is there are meetings with Indonesia because of interest. Doesn't say it is already sold, as the thread title leads one to believe. Also can't find another source on this either on google.

@madokafc @Indos any confirmation on your side?

Still better then Chinese Maal
can I bring up the why bring China into this accusation? lol

No, I dont think in export version (if able to, which highly unlikely) the SATCOM would be available.

Yup, still in negotiation as the article suggested, but this Month our parliament has approved to add more budget for our Armed Force in quite significant figure, so they have more money now at their pocket and our Air Force really want to have AWACS to achieve current Air Force vision to be world class Air Force (in term of the quality, not yet in quantity term of course), and we havent even had one to prepare our pilot in modern warfare situation.

sure, but is this the only system you're looking at?
