DRDO EMB-145i AEWCS export to Indonesia!!!

.
sure, but is this the only system you're looking at?

SAAB is quite close to our Armed Force and Military Industries, they have already had long cooperation with us. Turboprop plane is more fuel efficient though.

Maybe PT Dirgantara Indonesia is going to use C-295 as platform (we have cooperation with Airbus to produce this plane as well). If possible of course, well lets see what will be the result.........If we use C-295 as platform so there will be parliament support to produce more in the future, and the cooperation with India can be more widen.
Yes i read Indonesia is getting 9 CN 295M (for transport role) along with C 235 variants and hence if planners keep C 295 as platform, it would be a good choice with single platform serving several functions.

Winglets and anti-ship missile top latest additions to C295

Airbus Military has revealed plans to flight-test several further enhancements for its C295 medium transport and special mission aircraft. These will include the addition of efficiency-boosting winglets and an anti-ship missile.

Outlining the company's objectives for the next 12 months, head of engineering Miguel-Angel Morell says the company will also look to test the integration of head-up displays linked to an enhanced vision system, and to fly with an onboard inert gas generation system (OBIGGS) intended to boost the twin-turboprop's battlefield survivability.

Introducing MBDA's Marte anti-ship missile with the C295 could satisfy a market demand to counter the growing threat posed by piracy, Morell said at Airbus Military's Getafe site, near Madrid, Spain, on 21 May. The company will first fly with an inert weapon before August to assess its aerodynamic effects on the transport, before progressing to release trials and finally dropping a live weapon. "Our aim is to complete all the work this year," he says.

The Chilean navy has already acquired C295s armed with Mk 46 torpedoes to meet its anti-submarine warfare requirements, and Morell says the Marte missile will be integrated using an adapted version of the same launcher.

Flight tests with an OBIGGS installation in the wing fuel tank should be performed in the fourth quarter of this year, with ground testing of the equipment having already been completed. "Our aircraft are operating in difficult environments," Morell notes.

A demonstrator aircraft will also be flown in early 2013 with winglets. These should increase aircraft performance in take-off, climb and cruise, and could be offered as a retrofit option for in-service versions. Then, by the middle of next year, the C295 should also be flown with head-up displays and an enhanced vision system installed.

"All these new systems are demanded by our customers," Morell says.

Airbus Military is meanwhile continuing development activities linked to an airborne early warning and control system version of the aircraft being offered with Israel Aerospace Industries subsidiary Elta Systems. The companies have held preliminary discussions with three potential customers for the proposed new variant.

Elsewhere, Airbus Military is also studying a possible gunship version of the C295 and smaller CN235, plus enhancements to its fully integrated tactical system mission suite integrated across its product range.

Actually PT Dirgantara Indonesia has made anti ship missile and ASW for its CN 235.

Our new CN 235 MPA can use Exocet MBDA AM-39 or torpedo ( Raytheon Mk 46.) The picture above is the old version without winglet.

We upgrade Turkish CN 235 to have ASW ability.

The important thing here is the radar, not the plane. They can mount the radar on any suitable plane. Although it would take some time for modifying the setup, and re-calibrating the radar & the other components like RWR, MAWS, LWR etc. if being used on a platform other than EMB-145 versions.

India prefers to mount AEW radars on jet-powered planes only.

depends on their profile mission and the environment the platform intended to be operated

Yes, I agree with Madokaft, I just give something that maybe being brought as one of the option from our side

Yes, we have tanker already, if I am not mistaken we have already had it since 80's

Nope, we haven had any military satellite so far, our Armed Force just using communication satellites run by our state owned companies or maybe they also use micro satellite made by our agency. In 2014 the budget for buying one has already been prepared, but not yet bought, there is a worry buying military satellite from other country, so maybe they want to wait until our aerospace agency (LAPAN) make it, if this option is taken, so we have to wait until 2019 for LAPAN make a sophisticated one.

You can initiate talks with the Brazilians to build the plane at home & if your order is large enough there will be substantial
TOT Transfer:enjoy:
Also to hell with the plane I don't like em Brazilians anyway just go with our radar :enjoy:

Have you seen our recent dispute with Brazilian regarding our execution to their citizen....? Quite serious. It is likely that we will use the idea that you suggested here :azn:

Well if we can use C-295 as platform it means you are going to broaden your market in Asia Pacific and Muslim countries as general ( PT Dirgantara can offer credit export borrowed from Saudi money), and maybe European countries market as well since it is developed by Airbus from CN 235 (PTDI/CASA)

There will be bigger plane coming out inshaALLAH in coming years, which is R-80, so if these one is success means we can have long term cooperation each other. Talking about AESA technology, we also need it for our KFX/IFX program, and this one is massive, recent development shows that our military plan to produce 80 planes.

If there is a joint venture of sorts with your platform and the Indian radar system, it'll also open more doors for more joint ventures as well between the countries. That could be another win win situation as well.

.
Yup, still in negotiation as the article suggested, but this Month our parliament has approved to add more budget for our Armed Force in quite significant figure, so they have more money now at their pocket and our Air Force really want to have AWACS to achieve current Air Force vision to be world class Air Force (in term of the quality, not yet in quantity term of course), and we havent even had one to prepare our pilot in modern warfare situation.

A good decision.

Having a balanced defence acquisition policy from multiple vendors has its advantages, friend.

Putting all eggs in one basket is not a safe choice. Diversifying with Brazil, us, China and Russia is a very smart choice.

If you start buying South African military equipment as well, then you might as well join BRICS officially. :D

Indonesia is a big country with a tremendous international potential.

.
Chinese maal is flying and in numbers...how many of yours are flying?
The number is in the thousands, there's the Do-228s, Cheetaks, Cheetahs, Su-30MKIs, Hawk Mk.132s, Avros, Kiran IJTs, MiG-21s, MiG-27s, Jaguars etc etc

.
I hope indegeniously made burnol is is available in India, but guess what it won't cure your burned Indian. A$$ ...it was just an attempt by a local engineer to make a living which he managed to achieve by spending few thousands???but after spending trillions and decades what did you make???an lca which even your own airforce is not ready to accept that???cause they know it would be another flying coffin. Keep trying inventing wheel then once you spend trillions again buy it from off the shelve. Imagine if you have spent the same money on toilets your people would have stopped polluting your already polluted country.
@waz sir, please clean up this thread.

Since when hawks , Sukhoi, migs and jaguars have become Indian products, just like showing British flag won't make you British...they will never accept a black a$$ Indian like you as a British, no wonder I see this every day.

Why shud I take your ancestral profession.

Yes, we need more joint ventures, currently we have with Spain, South Korea, and Turkey.........
A good decision.

We will not joint BRICS likely, previous Foreign Minister has spoken his reluctant over that scenario, it is understandable. It is more like Anti-USA / The West camp, and we dont want to be seen as one, particularly during Obama administration which is quite friendly to us.
