We had a hope in 2010 that MR will assure us a bright future.
Even, I have voted for the UPFA in previous elections.
But sadly, I can now understand that there is no future for the country and us under him.

Not really. It's pretty apparent that they engage in corruption and have made some poor investment choices eg Mihin Lanka, Hambantota Airport. But Sri Lanka is politically stable (which has been a rarity), the economy is growing steadily and so is the GDP per capita. Sri Lanka has a better future than it ever did, certainly as compared to when the war was raging. I just don't see how the UNP, composed of a bunch of people from various groups with no political vision, is going to be a better proposition for Sri Lanka. It's pretty sad and telling that they have to keep pulling in canditates from outside of their own party to try and win an election.

MR is the reason for the collapse of UNP. He tactically diluted the opposition.
See how many UNP voted MP's out there in the present government.
Therefore, obviously UNP couldn't win this election without the support of others.

Why would I want to vote for a party that is so desperate to come into power that it will field random candidates from outside the party so as to guarantee more votes? Sarath Fonseka got used and dumped by the UNP, now they are trying the same tactic with Maithri. It's a pretty shameless grab for power by Ranil, seeing as he won't stand for election himself, but just wants Maithri to do the hard work and then hand power over to him within 100 days. Real democratic and all....

You're right he hasn't. But Sri Lanka is moving forward; it is politically stable, the economy/tourism is growing and there is a lot of investment in infrastructure. Why would I want to risk all of that for a political party that is in disarray, that can't even field its own candidate and is now composed of a hodge podge of political parties each with different ideas and interests? It just doesnt make sense.

This shows how incompetent UNP leadership is. And MR destroyed UNP is not an excuse for UNP's dismal performance. Only UNP can save itself or kill itself. The thing matter is their choice.

No politician can do every thing he says. There is always certain part still remaining to do. That is a universal principle. However MR has achieved the key target of his manifesto anyway. And he's on his way for the rest according to him. That's not a lie actually. He didn't specify any date to remove executive presidency, develop the country etc.,

So why change the track for someone we don't even know?

2. Action on COPE reports,
3. Independant bribery commissions
4. Investigations into SriLankan, Mihin and every gover owned corps.
And remember we will have a seperate civilian units/forums with experts on every subjects where gover spending will be monitored. A new gover wont be able to play games like MR does with his hegemony where he controlls police, judiciary and every commission

The country is changing, people are getting more involved with what happens in this country...only a$$kissers remain...in the future the accountability of politicians will rise....that is why MR is facing this problem in election which he did not predicted.

Democratic right as a citizen. we will oust him.....when he does wrong, in same way we WANT TO OUST MR because HE HAS DONE WRONG! Everyone is not an a$$kisser like you.

And maithree is a person sensitive to ground reality. If criticism is thrown at him from every quater of society he has shown signs he will correct them. MR doesnt not have that. He has NO enough wisdom to correct his wrongs. He has no wisdom to understand that correcting his wrongs actually benefit him. Maithree seems to have a thick skin not to treat every one who critiques him wrongly. That is something i have observed...

Every one with charges in COPE reports will be punished, if not every one at least few.

The common oppostion did state they are going to start civil units...that is what i mentioned. Even if they dont in the future civil organisations will form them itself and the current ones in existence will strengthen.

And remember this very well. I dont say coming of Maithree will solve all the problems in SL, but it will solve one big problem, MR the problem! Now MR is a big problem in this country.

So we can change this path to destruction with changing MR....

MR is in the path of destrution, save him from that! He will have to change a lot to avoid it. Collateral damage will be SL.
