Donald Trump for US President? Could be.
Developer tycoon Donald Trump has his eyes on the United States' ultimate real estate: the White House.
Trump, the brash billionaire star of his own reality show, "The Apprentice," told ABC news he is seriously considering a run as a Republican in 2012 and could "easily" spend more than 200 million dollars of his own money.
"It could be fun because I'd like to see some positive things happen for the country. I'm going to make a decision probably by June," Trump told ABC's anchor George Stephanopoulos.
One principal policy as president would be to take on China's mighty economy, he said.
China is "getting away with murder" by manipulating its currency to US disadvantage, he said, calling the United States a "whipping post."
"The respect for this country is just not there," he said. "I have many people from China that I do business with, they laugh at us. They feel we're fools. And almost being led by fools. And they can't believe what they're getting away with." This was not Trump's first trial balloon about a presidential run. He explored the idea in 1999.
If he did challenge for the nomination, he might well find himself up against another controversial character with her own reality show: former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin. "I would take her on. I like her, but I'd take her on," he said.
