Does Pakistan Have a Sea-Based Second-Strike Capability?

If Pakistan hides them near Indian border, they are vulnerable to conventional strikes, if they are deep with in Pakistani landscape, hiding in mountains, they can be taken out with nuclear strikes, all one needs is actionable intelligence...both HUMINT and ELINT.
That can be said for India too since all their territory is within range of nuclear strikes....all one needs is actionable intelligence. ;)

Exactly, that is why, even though India has 4 times as much land area as Pakistan to disperse its weapons, Indian went for SSBNs ,to give her an assured second strike capability.

. . . .
But maybe it will be another fun debate :P I hope you enjoyed this one

. . .
Why do you think pakistan stuck with a cruise missile less than 533mm in Dia,while India went for some Hazoo mazunga odd Missile which wont fit anywhere without Major Modifications.

Babur was designed to fit neatly inside existing Torpedo tubes.

So is Nirbhay, but neither has been tested from a submarine, nor does Babur have the ability to navigate over water, with its present guidance system..so your point is?

Nirbhay is a toddler. A new born.

Babur was deployed many years ago. No comparison here

The point is simple, the cruise missile can take out Delhi evading the missile defences. There will be no command and control centre left so India will be helpless and have no ability to fight back. Seems weird this logic yes??

Well they are comparable, if one wants to say, that neither has been configured or fired from sub.

However Nirbhay does have advantage an over Babur, besides the obvious range advantage (1100 KM vs 700 Km), is its ability to fly over large water bodies, as it depends on conventional Inertial Navigation system combined with IRNSS, where as Babur depends on Tercom, which is useless over water.

please read the thread, maturation of missile systems is a very deep concept to understand. It will be fun to understand the concepts.

Pakistani Babur is based on Tomahawk missiles which fell in Pakistan. They were fired from submarines and did have the guidance system to navigate water bodies. Besides guidance over water is not a big deal.
