Do children really need mobile phones ?

So if I'm reading you correctly you're saying don't have kids, adopt a dog instead:lol:.

And give an introvert like me a panic attack:o:!? I'm the kind of person that goes to parties and talks to the house owner's cat until I feel it's no longer inappropriate to leave:lol:.

Haha lol, I don't mind house parties I go to some but they don't need to know that ;)

I just feel kids should be proactively involved with the outside world and live life than be anti-social and get used to communication through virtual world, come across weirdos and creeps.

Bad Idea, they will start "sharing" their friend by hurling them at their least liked person.

Should children have it? I have seen that parent are being forced to buy smart mobiles/tablets , laptops and others video game console for their children . What is prefect age for a children to keep a mobile phone with internet etc ?

When they start asking for one is the age you should give them one. Because the day they start begging is usually the same day they got pressured/bullied or made fun of for not having one.

Or they go to a birthday party and the kid is showing off his new iPhone.

I think mobile phones should be allowed for children. Parents have to responsible and teach the kids how to discipline themselves on the usage of electronic devices. Like it or not, electronic devices will soon become a part and parcel of life. It is better to teach them self discipline on the amount of time they spent on the devices rather than completely denying them.

Dogs are a good trial run for kids. The more intelligence dogs mimic human toddlers in their behaviors and intelligence. Just as lovable, messy and emotional too.

I feel the same too. I like to go skiing with my friends, but forcing socialization can have the same negative effects as isolation, so balancing the two is important.

Let kids be kids. They'll play on their electronics, they'll play with their friends, they'll play on their electronics with their friends. As parents, try to promote variance. Maybe take them for a day of physical activities like to the ski slopes? Or a lake to swim? or even a walk around the ritzy district of town.

But I'm 100% with you regarding kids. I'm just less social myself:whistle:.

Getting children acclimatized to electronics early can even give them a competitive advantage over others if they learn to balance electronic usage with academics and sociability. Computer skills are a vital part of modern life and are becoming even more entrenched in the work place, even for seemingly electronics-void work like art!

I still think a phone might be stretching it a bit, computers or tablets work too. But having exposure to computer usage and skills will only help them going forwards in life.

Depends .
If your children are sharp and well aware if people and their techniques then no harm but if they're innocent ,, simple and unable to comprehend things then there's a harm . Wait till they get mature .

Part of being a parent is teaching right from wrong and enforcing certain boundaries. To do this you need to learn how to say "NO" to your children when needed. Parents need to give their own precious time to their children and should not use technology as a substitute

Except technology hasn't become a substitute for the parent. Tech has evolved to the point of where it is essential in the 21st century. To remove your child from a potentially amazing source of knowledge, learning, culture, diversity and common human interaction should be regarded as wrong.

You gotta raise kids correctly.

Nothing more than cartoons and playing outside.

They can borrow a spare nokia 3310 for when they stay after school.

Exactly. At a very young age bonding with real life and experiencing the outside world is good.

I used to go to play schemes, horse riding, swimming, grandparents for dinner once every weekend and till date, it's our family ritual where we all gather. Play with Barbie dolls, Supermario/tomb raider/street fighter, go to park, steel band classes and camping

I miss those days and I'm glad I was raised in such a way than being handed a phone at a young age and isolate or disconnect myself from the real world
