Woke up this morning thinking it was just a bad dream.
Couldn't imagine that people of Pakistan have selected PML(N) or rather Nawas Sharif as the countries next PM. Admittedly unlike some on this forum, I'm not too emotional about the political set up in Pakistan, but in all earnest in the wildest imagination, i never expected NS to return to the power seat neither did i envisaged that Pakistani public, after repeatedly being let down by this party, have such short memory. How can one forget how this man managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the Kargil conflict, how he was playing musical chairs with the army high command, the attack on supreme court, the scandalous misadventures of his side kick the diabolical Saif brothers, his Ilford plaza and other properties in London not to mention other scams in UK and above all the freezing of foreign currency accounts.
Indeed people were fed up with PPP and were desperate for a change hence one would understand even if God forbid, some Islamic party was voted into power, but choosing damaged goods over some fresh change like Imran Khan is just beyond belief. Having said that, credit should be given where it's due and I'm all for Shabaz Sharif as he's time and again proved himself to be a good administrator but Nawas Sharif once again representing and leading Pakistan......the stuff what nightmares are made of. God help Pakistan.

i dont agree 100% with you.....
its too early to tell how NS will behave....he has learned his lessons the hard way....i'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
any way as i posted somewhere else, PTI has changed the political scene in pakistan....it used to be PPP-PMLN back and forth. now its going to be PMLN - PTI for the future and the PTI will gain ground if it performs in the KPK. if it dosnt then back to square-1. PPP is finished.....CRUSHED in Punjab and KPK.....Zardari will flee the country, the bhutto kids dont have what it takes to play pakistani politics....they love the comfort of Dubai and London.....PPP is history....its lost ground in Sindh too and will lose further.

if NS missteps the media and judiciary will pounce on him like anything.....the same goes for PTI and the others.

so lets wait and see what happens Jammer..!

This is democracy whatever the results the people have chosen

The quran states the people deserve the leaders they get maybe we need to continue changing for the better to get better leaders

Either way the biggest problem in Pakistan politics hss been the military and constant coups (dont get me wrong I love the pakistan military) but because Pakistans crap governments have never completed their terms, because the rubbish leaders have never finished their terms and the full extent of their uttrr uselessness has never been properly acknowledged
because these parties and leaders have always had the excuse that their terms were cut short and they couldnt achive what they wanted

The PPP after a full term in power is now mud and their support has collapsed because of how utterly and disgracefully useless they have been

The PML-N now have 5 years to do better, inshallah they will complete their term and if they are corrupt and useless they too will be exposed

Then its up to the Pakistani people

We have to go through with this path to clense ourselves from this ***** haramee self serving politicians

Dear fellows, do not presume to know better than your fellow countrymen. Over the last 13.5 years NS has faced vicious propaganda. Kids who have grown up during this time sometimes carry this in their heads and are unable to see the real situation. Blaming personalities is like not seeing the forest for trees. Clearly focusing on persons ignores the wider malaise.

I was angry and disappointed with PML(N) for various reasons. I did support PTI. But I am not going to find fault with the majority of my countrymen. They have spoken and I accept their choice.

May our country be blessed with peace and progress. Pakistan Zindabad.

look at the bright side:

PTI has an amazing chance to make KPK a utopian province a province that every other province envies! and i assure you IF that happens next election PTI will get 2/3 majority!

Secondly, if PML N works for the betterment of pakistan good otherwise it will where PPP went. TO HELL & democracy is the best revenge!

PTI will help make sure that PML N delievers!

Yes Shehbaz Sharif had a huge role in presererving Punjab for PML-N. One cannot deny the fact that governance was much better in Punjab as compared to any other province . . . . not ideal but better . . . that is under the PML-N govt. as seen by the people of punjab. Whereas under the corrupt govt. of PPP and alliance Imran Khan had nothing to do but keep on criticizing PML-N for most of the part and say out insulting comments to PML-N leadership in a most unethical way. Which the Punjabis nowhere seemed to enjoy or cherish(most of them) and saw it as a non serious attitude. Imran khan could have done better by communicating well to the masses of punjab by addressing the core issues in the most well mannered and proper way.

Actually I am deeply disappointed too. Not a PTI supporter, but thought this election we will see something new. Alas, it is nothing. This country has gone to the dogs. As a presenter on TV rightly commented, "A new government with old faces."

So 5 years down the road, our economy will be as rubbish as ever, we will have the same bijli, gas and paani issues, and the sam security situation.

And yes, making Pakistan was a mistake. A big one.

What do you think the solution is?

I guessed that Zardari will not come to power

The outcome is not too surprising, I think the development work carried out by Nawz in Punjab paid off, especially metro system.

@Elmo> am I right Sir/mam?
