ISLAMABAD: A statement from diplomatic sources says that Pakistan will not engage in a media war with Afghanistan despite some statements from Afghanistan politicians and officials against Pakistan, and will continue to maintain good relations with Afghanistan, Express News reported.
The statement recognised the Northern Alliance, the Taliban, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and America as stakeholders in the Afghanistan solution.
It also said that after the Doha talks, America had acknowledged that the Taliban were stakeholders in the Afghanistan solution.
The statement also said that India was not a direct neighbour to Afghanistan.
Express News Bureau Chief Islamabad Amir Ilyas Rana said that important aspects of Pakistan’s foreign policy were highlightened in a meeting between political officials and diplomats.
Rana said that talks between the US and the Taliban would continue even though they might have stopped temporarily, and Pakistan would continue to provide assistance in the matter.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken a line of action for Pakistan’s foreign policy objectives and that Pakistan should have good relations, diplomatic and economic, with all countries be it China, America or the European Union.
Rana said that Pakistan was fully committed to prevent a tragedy like the current militant blowback after the Soviet War from occurring again after NATO troops exit from Afghanistan in 2014.
Pakistan-India talks
Rana said that Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Senator Sartaj Aziz met with Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs Salman Khurshid and decided that Pakistan and Indian prime ministers would meet at the UN General Assembly annual session meeting in America in September, where the dates for the third stage of Pakistan-India talks would also be finalised.
The third stage of Pakistan India talks was important, Rana said.
Diplomats said that the Indian media was busy in promoting a negative propaganda against Pakistan, such that 8 out of 10 Indian films were against Pakistan, something that Pakistan had never engaged in, and that an agreement to stop the media war should be reached in order for peace talks to proceed.
They said that Prime Minister Nawaz had been working for the betterment of ties between Pakistan and India, but the talks were disrupted by the occurrence of the Kargil War.

whatever it is, patience in Pakistan is wearing thin and if they know what's in their best interests - they'll end the hostile actions and rhetoric as well as shut down safe havens in Kunar and elsewhere, which is where the TTP and other enemy groups are given breathing space to attack Pakistan

as for media wars and all -- makes no difference at all. If Pakistan can brave media wars from world powers, then handling a "media war" from Afghanistan side should be a piece of cake.

And the media war continues.

Nothing new on Indian choolah (stove) same old $hit constantly churning and spreading so much stink.

Peace to you.

Sir, while Pakistan refuses to roll into North Waziristan or dismantle Quetta Shura yet just keep yapping about Afghanistan and India the whole time, how is that not the same old $hit on the same old Pakistani choolah, except that the pakistani choolah is interference in another country whereas the Afghans are complaining of interference in their own???

Please do not bring India-Pak $hit shoveling in yet another thread.

Our generals are already working with NATO and Afghanistan. It may not be pretty but there are almost weekly meetings with top generals.

Now if you want to move from being an arm-chair general, please apply for a general-ship in ANA. They will appreciate yet another Indian Soorma fighting behind them.

peace to you and peace to all especially during Ramzan.

May God's blessings shower upon you and your family and all over the world.

We should keep our mouth shut and hands busy. Indians must be booted out of Afghanistan at all costs.

Frankly Sir, that is an unrealistic goal. With our resources compared to those being used by the other sides, all we can hope for at best is to mitigate the effects of their presence as much as possible. How much we can do that and for how long still remains to be seen.

A very wise decision at Pakistan's end. We should be busy doing what we are suppose to do. Getting in media war with a govt which itself is falling and its own Ally has left it out in the open than there is nothing left to talk about.

So we will leave a front open to be attacked from, keeeeeeeelasssic !!

I think that it will be much better for Pakistan to stay out of unnecessary media war of Afghanistan...remember @balixd the points which have discussed two days before?I am afraid that they are working on such planning...:what:

If that is a national security concern then definitely YES. Perhaps, Karazi and his crew are disturbed to take the fact that Pakistan is a key player for post-NATO Afghanistan, maybe the Doha talks will fruit out at the end of the day, who knows?

Decisions.... Decisions.

Afghanistan needs to learn that ... and very soon ..Karzai is going way above his head for some time now & we have been patiently waiting & ignoring his rants .. but there is always a limit to that ... the day Pakistan lost its cool ... Karzai's head will be rolling on the streets of Kabul .... Literally .

That is nothing but an empty boast. International relations do not work that way, Sir.

And just how ferocious is this "sleeping lion" that has already lost all its teeth due to caries?
