Diffusing tensions with Pakistan: Top-level US officials to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow

Having two super powers as friends is better than one. Even if one of them acts like a baby now and again.
Just curious as to what people would think if, say we allowed the US to station some naval ships in sindh for a long period of time, till we build up our own navy. Better than allowing them to build a massive base smack in the middle of our capital. Any thoughts?
Don't you think we have 2 super power friends now? China and Russia... Even USA is a friend it is our own mistake that we did not present our case properly.

There is also an other mistake when we tried to give our enemies one more chance to come clean which did not go well. They infect thought this to be our weakness.

what do they gain from that? they'll be better off with indian bases
Bases in India are not possible because that would increase the stake to a level where India would find herself in the corner. The Indians like to call shots but giving USA bases would indicate that India has surrendered this to USA.

The US needs to get out from Afghanistan. The way that it is most likely to use is through Pakistan hence the can not remain an enemy with Pakistan. They are going to give certain things and concessions and also try to find a way through the congress to approve all the issues with Pakistan because they do not want China to be siting in Pakistan and monitoring US movements.

"what do they gain from that". That is exactly what i am trying to figure out. lol. But it sure as hell would suite us a lot. They would be able to keep an eye on Chinese movements. And i think that is a big enough reason for them to want to do it. Probably some US member here could tell us more if its suites them or not.

Ab f35 k deal sign hoga...
F-35 ke deal ke baad India ko nag dus le ga...
Pakistan burnol baiche ga india main us se in F-35 ke payment ho ge...

go get a life kid...

This would be a perfect opportunity to give them a snub, one they will surely remember. I just hope COAS refuses to meet with them. It would be like saying F off.
It does not work like that... It politics...

Diffusing tensions with Pakistan: Top-level US officials to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow
By Web Desk
June 09, 2016
WASHINGTON: The Obama administration has decided to ease tensions with Pakistan by sending two top-level American officials to Islamabad in the coming days to hold talks.

According to details, the Obama administration has decided to send a senior adviser to the US President and US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Olson to Pakistan.

Olson is due to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow, where he will hold talks with the civil and military leadership on a range of topics including Pak-USA relations and regional issues.

Sources disclosed that the Obama administration was concerned due to the recent downslide in relations between Pakistan and the United States. Top-level sources also disclosed that the American officials will hold a meeting tomorrow with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security, Nasir Khan Janjua.

Talks will most likely focus on how to take steps to ensure lasting stability in Afghanistan and to promote regional harmony.

Sources have also disclosed that a meeting between the American delegation and PM Nawaz's daughter Maryam Nawaz is also on the cards.

Relations between the United States and Pakistan took a turn for the worse after the May 21 American drone strike in which Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed. Pakistan termed the drone strike as an attack on its sovereignty and claimed that the Afghan reconciliation process had been negatively affected due to the attack.

. Interestingly they decided on this visit after a recent statement from army chief in which he reiterated Pakistan will not accept any international pressure to compromise on its national interests and sovereignity which is an official NO to the pretermed f 16 deal . If Pakistan has not done enough as the objecting Congress members say US also has not done enough on its Afghan side to catch ttpfazlullah. Pakistan despite losing F 16 will retain status quo in the relationship here so Indians who are waiting for the Day Pakistan shoots down a drone to make the paradigm shift will not see this happening any time soon.

It does not work like that... It politics...
I do not agree with Russia as being our friend. Selling us a few helicopters does not mean that. Its more or less a message to India. The day Putin visits us, then we can sort of say that we are on the path that leads to us being friends, but as of now, far from it.
We have handled our relationship with USA in a really bad manner, and the main reason for that is the slime ball Haqqani, he ruined it, like absolutely ruined it.
Btw..i did not get this part:
"There is also an other mistake when we tried to give our enemies one more chance to come clean which did not go well. They infect thought this to be our weakness."
what mistake? and which chance? and come clean on what?
cheers

Those who are saying Olson is hardly any official please revisit your thoughts as he is special envoy

http://tribune.com.pk/story/973862/richard-olson-made-us-special-envoy-for-pakistan-afghanistan/
In this part of world special envoys have large amount of leverages as they report directly to big boss president and they have quite a lot significance .Obviously objective is not to wage a war but to get some thing ,I guess US backing on Pak entry into NSG should be on cards and if not some thing else has to be taken care .US will never leave Pak why i always mentioned this after China who is going to take care of India ,With Pak being the ultimate giant killer so lets not get emotional get what ever we can

.
Wake up Pakistan, India is their genuine friend...for us lollipop.

.
It does not work like that... It politics...

Well it does for the US, does it not? If they can snub us on matters such as F-16s or Indian sponsored terrorism or when it comes to our inclusion in the NSG, why cant we. Politics aside the time has never been better to send US a clear message.

Fair enough...

This is just one part of the problem...

Pakistan has many enemies internally and externally though they all some how or the other lead to India. Pakistan tried to be friends with India but in reality what it got we all know.

lets see hum gobar sy nikla paon saaf karty hain ya wapis uc mian ghusa daity hain.
Don't worry they will bring some more lolly pops to please us and we will be again ready for their service.

Time to close US embassy

Can't play friends with country holding dagger in its pocket

Terrorist activities in Iran ended once US embassy was shut and offcials were kicked out

Terrorism will fall by 98% once US embassy is shut down

Today in Iran people enjoy a Terror free country due to no US embassy
Thank God , Kids like you are not in ghq and foreign office.

By the way your loving country Iran is again licking the uncle Sam boots.

For this one has to have character..
...

If you have to give a clear message then become a nation first...That would be enough. Taking sides would lead to more mistrust. Pakistan can not afford this at this time.

.
They are coming to save Nawaz, the mole, the thug, the corrupt, the limp horse.

.
Looking forward to seeing what kind of development ensues.

Perhaps the massive embassy right in the heart of country is anticipating a surge in visa application for US to cater that specifically they decided to expand. Just my two paisas

.
They are coming to punish our leaders. They will inquire "ok now who made statements that we will no accept drone attacks any more". For this statement you have to do 50 sit ups lol :haha:
