Did colonization ruin India's image?

Best thing that happened to India is get colonised by the British. The British gave India a unified country, they civilized the Indians as much as they could (obviously not enough), they taught English to the Indians, etc.

The British cant civilize a civilization as old as India's. They added western ideals, morality, etc. into India, Indians absorbed them. China did the same thing when they took in Western-Communist concepts, styles, etc. And the British let in Gerco-Roman and Christianity. All of these were alien to India, China, and Britain.

And when Brits were tribals and later getting invaded by the Romans. Indians were creating complex architecture, religions, and in general a unique civilization.

There are 2 groups of people that should never have a right to self rule, it's Africans and Indians. They are very backward people, thus they would perform much better under foreign rule.

Very good, Im sure the Japanese said something very similar about the Chinese while they were butchering you guys.

It's hilarious how you idiots hate the Japanese so much, but you guys end up sounding just like the Japanese of old.

Let me tell you something from a historical POV -- the peoples who were historically considered barbarians and savages(ie. France, Britain, Scandinavians, Germans, Slavs, etc), them and their descendants now are ruling this whole planet.

Snake preserved in wine bites woman

Snake-wine.jpg

A woman in northern China has had to receive hospital treatment after a snake preserved in rice wine jumped out of the bottle and bit her hand.

According to the Global Times, the surprise attack happened when the woman, surnamed Liu, from Shuangcheng went to top up the bottle with more wine.

Remarkably, the snake, which had been pickling for three months, was still alive.

Liu, who received treatment at a local hospital for inflammation, had bought the snake wine to try and cure her rheumatism.

It is a widely held belief in China that such wines boast medicinal properties

This is not the first incident of a pickled snake seemingly coming back to life.

One Mr Zhang of Hubei Province was bitten by a snake in 2009 that had been preserved in a bottle of rice wine for two months.

While in 2001, a villager from Guangxi Zhuang died a day after being bitten from a pickled snake. :woot:

I don't know which is more funny ...........snake bites chinese or that chinese bites snakes

At the time of our Golden age during 3-5th century when Indian civilization was already mature spreading their Indian culture across Asia and making lots of inventions and discoveries, Anglo-Saxons the ancestors of British were still barbarians.

Here is the list of contribution made by Indians in various fields. The cotton cloth you wear actually first cultivated by ancient Indians. The chess you play was invented by Indians. The spices you use was introduced by Indians. The number system you use is also Indian.

All of the historical non sense is irreverent now.

Look how far Britain, France, Germans, Scandinavians, Iberians(Spain, Port), Slavs have come now. Now they have off shots all over the planet. One of which who became the most powerful force in human history - landing rovers on Mars, sending probs past the solar system, having a cultural grib on humanity like no one before them, etc, etc, etc.

They were the underdogs of humanity, now they are on top of the food chain.

26 % of your men are impotent  ........... and of the rest 24% chinese has admitted to rape. LOL at your claims.

Indian men didn't just admit rape (who admits rape anyway?), they were caught raping. In India, every 22 minutes there is a rape, every 76 minutes there is a child raped.

Sick freaks

These are just cycles in history growing and declining. See the condition of Greece, the cradle of European culture.

So, great Chinese civilization, they have to import foreign writing system to learn to pronounce their own Chinese pictograph in school.

You think only Chinese did that, Indians didn't have such great inventions.

It's not my responsibility to educate you on everything chinese, excessive repetitive behavior is a sign of retardation. If you're not capable of an intellectual discussion, you should go to bollywood forum.

Cotton is inferior to Silk. We played chinese chess called wei/go invented 2000 yrs old, your chess came in the AD era. Ancient india technology was nothing comparable to China. Go read comparative civilization history.

Cotton is inferior to Silk. We played chinese chess called go. Ancient india had nothing comparable to China.

Chinese so called Chess, that game is only confined to China, it didn't get widespread popularity like Indian invented Chess(Chaturanga).

That looks like cobra, I thought they use poisonless snakes in such things.

Cotton is cheaper and comfortable cloth which everyone can afford instead of expensive silk. Regarding Chinese contribution, India was more important to the world during ancient period compared to China, Indians made so many significant inventions and discoveries.
