Dhaka slates Israeli atrocities in Gaza | Bangladesh | bdnews24.com
Dhaka, Nov 19 (bdnews24.com)Bangladesh on Monday strongly condemned Israeli atrocities and violence in Gaza in recent days that caused loss of lives of Palestinian civilians and posed renewed threat to regional peace and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press statement called for an immediate cessation of the atrocities on the civilian population in Gaza and a reversal to normality.
The statement said Bangladesh was 'deeply shocked' and urged international community to put pressure on Israel to stop violence.
"Bangladesh strongly believes that the occupation of Palestinian land must come to an end, and the Palestinians people must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
A comprehensive solution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map is the position of Bangladesh, the statement added.
"Bangladesh believes that the international community must strengthen their efforts, individually and collectively, to support the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people."
