It’s kind of sad that we didn’t get to see something like Nuremberg trial after 1971. At least Pakistan would get to face the realities of its most popular institution. Without facing those realities, the machinations of the institution will only remain hidden and at best speculative. At this point, nothing short of a truth and reconciliation commission can save the country.

Srinagar: Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen ADS Aujla said the Indian army is fully prepared to take control of Pakistan-administered Kashmir and the forces are ready for any action on orders from the government of India.
Aujla was interacting with journalists in Srinagar on Rajnath Sigh’s comments that the BJP-led Government of India will merge the Pakistan-administered Kashmir with India.
“Whenever the Central Government takes such a decision, orders will come to us and in such a situation, we are fully prepared. Apart from our conventional strength, we are also strengthening ourselves modernly, so that we do not have to look back in such a situation,” Lt Gen Aujla said.

There were going to be trials and whatnot, but the powers that be sealed up the Hamoodur Rahman Commission. Many military high-ups and even Bhutto were named as both were responsible parties and should be prosecuted.

My friend, sharing partial intel doesn't mean ISI is going to work under provincial government or authorities. ANY Federal department or agency even if its the Federal Medical Research Dpt, it won't work under provincial govt despite it's presence in a province. ISI sharing partial intel with anyone else doesn't make the obliged to follow orders from local govt. You've seriously no idea what you're talking about. Learn about Provincial and Federal departments.

I’ll give you an example. My nana was a very pious zamindaar. Haaji saab they called him. Tilled the soil, never had an education and taught himself how to read from newspapers at the age of 11.

He used to support noon league back in the 90’s. Religious guy, so to him Nawaz Sharif sounded like a pious guy. ‘Sharif’...

Never had any exposure to the party or politics except for some stories in the newspapers.

Same with Pashtuns especially Pashtun women from rural areas, a lot of people have smartphones now. Unfortunately a lot of these women aren't educated but due to the power of the internet they too are now in the know about the establishment.

This is what happens when you are fossil-like and think bans on PEMRA will work now.

It is just so that the system actually weeded us out - it is designed that way. So I was never “Pakistani” in my mind in the first place so the system forced me to leave or resign myself to conforming - I was lucky enough to escape and therefore came to where my mindset fits.
In a way, I was never Pakistani to let the Pakistani system accept me - perhaps you should preach the same to your son.

I can predict many people turning against the federation, specially the young generation.

It is already happening. Many Pakistani Pashtun diaspora youth are starting to hate Pakistan, when a year ago they were defending it. Many people I know have taken off Pakistani flags from their social media bios.

Sharif on the other hand was from a regioios family, connections with tableeghi jamaat

Honestly TLP and PTI is taking that conservative relgious vote bank from PMLn

Pakistan is simply not an accommodating environment for visionaries and intellectual people. It is a society where you thrive by having connections (political, military), lots of $$$ to offer, or engage in corruption yourself.

Also when you're running a pseudo-dictatorship that leeches off the people, there's only a limited amount of people that can steal from public funds because personal greed plays a role, but also to keep the corruption circle tight-knit. Some may be morally just and patriotic, so there's a risk of the system being challenged, example IK.

In the end its just easier dealing with majority yes-men to uphold the structure, and allow "some exceptions that... keep the momentum going and some thought leadership growth.".

Our biggest enemy is ourself.
