Uyghurs, are racially from the Turkic stock. The Turkic stock, stem from the region adjacent to the Mongols, long before they (Turkic) ever became Muslim. The Turkic stock's historical record place them in the 6th century A.D. They used to exist in vicinity to the Mongols, and were at times, used by the Chinese Dynasties against the Mongols. Turkic did somewhat racially mix with the Mongols, given that Turkic were anything but an established civilization and would move around as nomads across the Continental Asian Steppe.

Turkic, even in their nomad state, established what was supposedly their empire (of sorts) coined as the Turkic Kaghanate. The Turkic Kaghanate didn't last too long before it split into two, the Eastern and the Western Turkic Kaghanate. The latter moved westward to the region between Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea.

The Western Turkic Kaghanate are the ancestors of the Khazars. The Khazars, the successors of the Western Turkic Kaghanate, chose Judaism out of political expediency.

From a historical stand point, Turkic practiced Tengrism and to some extent Zoroastrianism. By nature, religion is only a means for their practical, real world aspirations for the Turkic stock. The Khazars built on this methodology, by adopting Judaism, where it was existing in a region dominated by Orthodox Christian - Byzantine Empire and the Islamic Khalafah. Prior to the Islamic Khilafah, the Persian Zoroastrian Empire dominated alongside the Orthodox Christian Byzantine Empire.

Turkic race's religions were Tengrism and later they adopted Zoroastrianism. Turkic race melded with the Persian Zoroastrians to some extent and have a significant influence of the Persian Zoroastrian. Turkic race embraced Islam quite later, not before of their race adopted Judaism and Zoroastrianism. So for some high IQ'd morons to talk about China being oppressive toward Muslims, ought to go read up history of the Turkic race before making absurd remarks as such.
