Indonesia's film industry, like others around the world, has been hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic. It is one of Asia's biggest markets, and with many of its cinemas closed, demand for streaming services is surging. Some filmmakers are hoping the trend will help shake up the industry so it can better compete with foreign titles.

nah... but I watch short review like "The veronica explained" 13 minutes max to explain the movie. I generally like action, scifi, fictions... etc not horror, neither love and nor real stories type...

Movie Theaters in Jakarta to Reopen Starting September 16

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Cinema Owners Association (GPBSI) Head Djonny Syafruddin announced that all movie theaters in Jakarta will reopen starting Thursday, September 16. The decision was taken in a meeting between GPBSI and the city’s Tourism and Creative Economy Agency today.

“We have agreed to open cinemas beginning this Thursday,” Djonny told reporters on Tuesday, September 14.

Jakarta’s Tourism and Creative Economy Agency initially allowed cinemas to reopen on a trial basis. Djonny said the city administration misunderstood the central government’s decision that permitted the operation of cinemas.

He explained his side considered the trial run as just a term adopted by the city government which meant that cinemas are allowed to welcome visitors starting the day after tomorrow.
