The title implies that the dollar is rising overall. Whereas in truth it is the Indian rupee that is collapsing, while other South Asian currencies are mostly stable against the dollar.

As the article points out, even India's "indigenous" lol eqipment uses a majority of foreign imports as components.

The collapse of the Rupee is wiping out their buying ability.

The problem is India is importing more than they can export... Worst, they need to import many fuel which is rising at record rate. I doubt it can be stable and back to the rate of a years ago in short time.

Yes, they need to import almost everything, from car fuel to basic ammunition. So a collapsing Rupee will lead to massive inflation in the future as well, and be a huge bottleneck on growth rates.

India spends a lot more on poverty alleviation schemes than it does on defence - several times more. That advice is better given to pakistan, who spends a bigger percentage of its wealth on defence than India does.
