Pakistan's currency has reached a new all-time low against the dollar after the government last week reached a preliminary agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for USD 6 billion dollar bailout.

The Pakistani rupee dropped to 147 rupees to the dollar on Thursday morning. The rupee was traded at 141 to the dollar earlier this week, prompting government officials to meet with currency dealers to discuss how to stabilize the currency.

Last week, Pakistan in a preliminary agreement with the IMF agreed to follow a market-determined exchange rate. Currently, Pakistan's central bank controls the currency exchange rates.

Pakistan is currently facing significant economic challenges, with declining foreign exchange reserves, diminishing growth and increasing trade deficit.

I think Imran Khan wll be thrown down in a major uprising by the people of Pakistan by the end of this year... I can only see things going venezuelas way....it's just a matter of time before people hit the streets and violence erupts...he was too late in going to IMF...he should have gone to IMF much earlier...but his ego he didnt allow him to...he must have realised now sitting in opposition and throwing allegations on the ruling party is one thing and to run a country is another...he said he would never go to IMF before becoming the PM...

He tried to fool people ..they say karma has no menu...you get served what you deserve.

You are too naive..Trust me...more than China, US and West may harass Pakistan but will not make Pakistan falter or get bankrupt in long run...US wants to make a situation in Pakistan where Pakistan can allign with US objective...And unfortunately, Pakistan tried its best to avoid IMF but could not succeed..
