I don't think there will be any human casualties but there will be a loss of materials

the authorities have 15 satellite phones to avoid a breakdown in communication.

Makes complete sense!!
In kashmir not using satellite phones by state authorities was a mistake.I guess they didnt have any to use or so Omar abdullah said.

Exactly,phailin was the strongest of'em all i hv seen till date,it ws so powerful that it changed direction of river Ganga towards the himalayas,normally its the other way around. Still casualities were too less. But Agriculture & infra could be effect cos of Hudhud !

Seawaves observed above 5 meters in Gopalpur to Vizag stretch. Some people still not heeding the warning issued by athorities and heading to beach to sea the surging waters, just observed a Pajero going there. People are just doing stupid things. Please be safe and follow the instruction of athorities.

3 days power cut with no water .....

But state govt. did a gud job at that time.....I hope this time,casualties are even less

Is any part of the vizag city has been vacated, especially the buildings that are right on the beach road?

Mostly low lying areas were vacated ...no such information for buildings in Beach road

The effect of this may be more than phailin..as phailin subsides in 4 hours span ..but this I am experiencing from Mid night and still going on...

So now its close to becoming a category 4 storm,it's serious nw,worst part is its gaining speed at landfall.

Many people are trying to show their guts in heavy winds, one biker skidded. On Doordarshan they are inside naval base and akula submarine is only 10 to 15 meters away from official media person of government agency. How the hell did they got athorization move so near to nuke submarine. But it looks bit different than akula. I am not sure but surely its nuke submarine.

Maybe not, Phailin was a category 5 storm ,at max intensity wind speed recorded was at 260km/hr.
Anyways ,hope hudhud dosen't becomes a category 5 storm.
