. . . . . . . . . . .
Thanks to our parents and elders, people like me can live a healthy life (currently in my 20s), for that I am very grateful. I have much better nutrition, environment and opportunities compared to my elders. Though the older generation in my family didn't suffer from malnutrition, every younger generation is taller and more youthful in appearance (compared at the same age) than the previous due to improvement in nutrition and other environmental factors. The male height went from 178-181cm with my grandpa and great-grandpa's generation to 185-188 cm with the current.

Overall with better nutrition and environment, I have noticed that people are starting to look more youthful. Occasionally I visit my extended family in the countryside and would see the old men looking warn from the elements while the younger generation from the same countryside looks youthful and fair skinned.

Environment, diet, and habits has a major effect on the ageing process. This 51 year old from Singapore looks like half his age.

Nutrition and environment is vital to the growth process of the body. Just compare North and South Korea for example. The South is on average 8cm taller than the North despite being genetically the same. I've seen a few North Korean middle aged men in Beijing and they tend to be a head shorter than me and don't look like they age particularly well. The more I think about it the more I feel bad for them.

Understandable that a youthful face appeals to young girls but they should be encouraged to keep an active lifestyle as well. Maybe Douyin app can encourage them a bit to hit the gym or just use the local park bars (its free). Personally I love the park bars, pull ups currently max at 35 reps. For the parents out there, make your kids play sports and just be generally active. Exercising enhances cognitive abilities as well.

For the resident patriotic baby maker @somsak , I hope that your kids enjoy a healthy lifestyle. It is never to late for anyone to start a journey on a healthy lifestyle. This father and son decided to start their journey and look at them now.

@Cybernetics, nice post. I didn't expect you to be in your 20s. I was wrong. I judged your age to be in the 30s or 40s by just reading your posts.

35 pull ups all in one set ? That's pretty impressive if you can do that.

Yah, all in one go, no rest, without touching the floor.

My goal is to pull off something more like this but currently my core is weak so I'm doing weighted sit-ups to strengthen it.

I was motivated by observing old men in China's community parks doing gymnastics and fancy pulls effortlessly. Some of these guys are more than 70 years old and still manage to pull this off.

If he can do it, so can I and so can every other healthy person if they persist. They are doing their part in reducing health care costs and living a healthy life.

Thanks rott

That's interesting, I hope to upgrade to a 60 year old in the next couple of years. Besides, people are becoming much younger than before, 40 is the new 30, 30 is the new 20.
