Curtain falls on Bangladesh-India relations?

The LBA should have been signed and closed. It is one of the easiest border problems to solve. The current scenario is simply ridiculous. Unfortunately, with the GoI it is no longer about how to provide governance, but more about how to stay in governance. The current government would have done a world of good for relations, if we had signed the deal. It would have been one good thing that they have done.

LBA was signed by none other than the PM of India, but it was not passed by the Parliament. It has brought shame to India and its system. MMS should have talked with the opposition before signing a treaty that has less value than the value of the paper on which he signed.

Have you read The Arthsastra? Have you heard of Chanokya / Katulya?

Irrespective of govt of India and Bangladesh after next elections, LBA and teesta should be signed.

Bangladesh has helped us lot in making North East peaceful, hence the need to return favour.

Bold part: Mr. Munshi, Sir, there is no reason to think India can guarantee Hasina's dream to remain a life long PM. We vote for or agianst her, but Indians do not. People do not like AL and SHW. But, corruption of BKZ, her two sons and many BNP cronies made people anti-BKZ in the last election. This time it will be different.

I think, the article is written articulately. It has specified all the sources of sore points between the two countries. SHW's main stupidity lies in her ignorance on how the Indian Parliament/political system is run.

She, her stupid Advisors and FM Dipu Kumari could not perhaps correctly apprehend that Indian Parliament needs 2/3rd majority to pass the LBA and Teesta Bills, but, Congress does not have that kind of majority. She did not learn any lesson from the mistakes done by her father on Tin Bigha.

Duplicity and deceiving are the twin characters of Indian bureaucrats and politicians. They are probably smiling wryly on the stupidity of the Mleccho BD cow-headed and half educated politicians.

The Indians may not be able to directly guarantee Hasina's wish to remain in power but they can provide strong backing and justification to cripple the BNP and JeI. The Indians were extremely successful in installing this AL government and have provided all kinds of support short of the LBA and Teesta Agreement. The Indians, however, miscalculated with the Shahbag protests but they are back on top. Not even the Americans are confident enough to upset Hasina.

Sorry, I meant it should have been passed. MMS has turned out to be the most useless PM this country has ever seen. There is no reason, this could not have been passed.

going by the way you are naming the person who wrote it am sure you have not read the same. So better keep your trap shut.

Arthashastra is good source of fine tuned politics and diplomacy. But, what Indian politicians of today do in international arena is a low level cheatery. Signing by one hand and denying by the other.

Some people think I am the writer of the lead essay. Are you also implying that? I am completely disappointed that you have not read the article properly. Do you think all people should think and write like you? Note the writer is a former Ambassador to Tokyo during BNP time. Does it ring any bell in your ears? But, you are not that fond of BNP.
