The Hochmoselbrücke (high mosel bridge) made a huge step today. The steel construction closed the last gap today. The rest are only minor things to do and as a final building the paved drivelines.... the bridge is 1.7km long and 160m high, the distance between the pylons is 210m ...which is a new world record distance for bridges build in Incremental launched method.

The bridge is part of the plan to better connect the Frankfurt Hahn Airport to the Rhein Main area... which is Germany third largest metropol area with 5.9million people and Germanys only Alpha city in global ranking.
The Frankfurt Hahn Airport is Frankfurts second airport after its giant main Airport Frankfurter Flughafen...Frankfurt Hahn is mainly used by cheap carrier and a better connection (so far it took 1.5hours to get to Frankfurt from the airport) would make it more attractive for cargo ... the Frankfurt Airport is europeans largest cargo airport (over 2.1million tonnes/year) and 3th largest passenger airport, outsourcing cargo to Hahn would free more slots for passgengers... Frankfurt Airport is the best connected airport in the world with the most direct connections of any airport in the world.
