PESHAWAR: Three more MPAs of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, including the deputy speaker, on Wednesday joined the party’s dissidents in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly amid the provincial government’s unsuccessful attempts to pacify the rebellious lawmakers.

MPA Qurban Ali Khan, who leads the PTI dissidents, claimed that three more members of the party had joined the bloc on Wednesday taking its strength to 17.

“Three more MPAs will join the bloc in the next two days,” he told Dawn.

In the day, the disgruntled MPAs from Peshawar, Swat, Kohat, Hangu and other areas held a meeting at the MPAs Hostel.

Noted among them were Ziaullah Bangash, Mahmood Jan, Javed Nasim, Dr Amjad, Gul Sahib Khan Khattak, Arbab Jehandad and Shah Faisal.

Significantly, Deputy Speaker Imtiaz Shahid, who belongs to Kohat district, has also joined the group. Experts say the turmoil within PTI could land Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and his coalition government in trouble.

Jamaat-i-Islami and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan with eight and five MPAs respectively are coalition partners of the PTI in the province.

Qurban Ali Khan claimed four women MPAs were among the dissidents, who enjoyed the support of many party MNAs.

He said the provincial ministers and party leaders had been trying to meet dissidents since Tuesday but the meeting didn’t take place due to the latter’s refusal.

“Different people have been approaching us since Tuesday to resolve issues through dialogue but we have refused,” he said, adding dissidents would speak to the party chairman only regarding issues.

“We will not listen to anyone except Imran Khan,” he said, adding that the charge sheet against ministers and dishonest figures of the party would be presented to the party head.

Mr Qurban said before meeting Imran Khan, dissidents who had formed a bloc, would address a news conference in Peshawar.

He said the dissidents had advised the provincial government to act in line with the PTI manifesto and guidelines, but nobody paid attention.

The dissidents’ leader said the PTI vision and programme in health, education and local government hadn’t been followed and that key social sector portfolios had been given to the party’s coalition partners.

“Our mission is to save PTI and not to secure portfolios or other coveted positions,” he said.

Special assistant to the chief minister Syed Mohammad Ishtiaq, who is the PTI provincial information secretary, played down the dissident crisis in the party.

Talking to Dawn on Wednesday evening, he said he had met members of the dissident bloc and offered them the resolution of their grievances through negotiation.

“Differences among our members are natural and government is ready to address their genuine problems,” he said.

The special assistant said the disgruntled lawmakers were asked to express their

reservations and demands during the meeting.

The above one was months old with other
problems within PTI, Now Javed Hashmi left and Three MNAs fired by IK who didn't put resignations to him. How he could bring the change when his own party start having dents?

Javed Hashmi didn't leave, he have been fired. He acted irresponsibly in this sensitive situation, what was he thinking?

PTI is not designed to conduct status-quo politics. It is representation of change of sentiments among the masses of Pakistan against status-quo politics.

He was thinking that IK decision is wrong to go forward, And three MNAs may also not with what IK thoughts, whatever is it but his own peoples leaving him is a truth.

You can spin this the other way but IK announced termination of these people. 3 MNA refused to resign, did not decide to leave party. JH got fired for his irresponsible behavior during this sensitive situation.

In the end, PTI will be left with principled people and no more internal conflicts. After this cleansing, PTI will manage its political matters much more easily.

Kan samne se pakdo ya hath pichey se lejake, is same thing.

Hashmid did a major blunder at a critical time. To try a highlight IK's mistakes in the media is a stupid thing to do. PTI does not need idiots like this.

Nope nobody is clouding his thought. IK always take decisions with consultation, JVH blamed IK wrongly even though I don't like to think but sort of now I suspect he actually was a planted pml-n mole but who cares, he is kicked out.

It was not time for JVH to air press conference against IK without any proof, whatever he said would be used against IK/PTI in Courts, I as someone who keep close eye on Pakistani politics believe that such statements have destroyed credibility of PTI Azaadi March...Awam, PTI karhun, PTI politicians won't finger point at IK but HC/SC would definitely drag IK for all this mess even though its opposite so its very clear JVH wanted to destroy IK politically, quiet frankly JVH's ouster would give him another stroke before blaming IK he should have visited ppl in hospitals he should have been with his PTI karhun instead he went back to home stayed home enjoyed TV and after 12 hours went to hospitals that too after press conference, shameful JVH sahib.

So you claim to that alleging things on Imran is wrong well guess what Imran has been doing that since elections no proof only demand for istifa..

first he defamed CJ THEN ELECTION COMMISSION then Army Chief when he said that Army chief received a BMW. without any proof.

Imran has clearly got his vision clouded. He could have easily come out of this victorious with 5 demands out of 6 accepted. He could have given Nawaz 1 month to get investigation completed if not then Istifa.

Lastly Javed Hashmi sahab had said day 1 Imran if you do wrong i will do baghawat against you because i am a Baghi. So total respect for Hashmi sahab.
