Well, CPC has tried to save these people, but these pro-KMT Indonesian-Chinese turned their back on CPC's offer.

These people brought this to themselves, they chose to trust on KMT, so this was the expected outcome for them.

Well, we offered help and evacuation both in 1969 and in 1998. Those we saved in 1969 have taken roots in Southeast China and many of them are still there today. Those who chose to stay with the Chinese embassy in 1998 was safe as well. PRC government did the best it could.

For the sake of the Chinese brotherhood, CPC has fulfilled its duty to help them as much as it can.

But for the same question here, did those pro-KMT Indonesian Chinese show any mercy to their pro-CPC Indonesian Chinese brothers back in the 1960s?

Sometimes, many people simply love to blame CPC for everything.

The proper way to describe the event in 1998 is a political and economic chaos that victimized the whole Indonesians, not just Chinese.

The potrayal of 1998 riots in Chinese community is so distorted as if all the victims were only Chinese and the sole riots is because of Chinese. The one who died the most was Indonesian themselves who protested against the government. Anti-chinese riots were only a part of it in a chaotic opprtunity. In the end, it is all the Indonesian that were the victims.

To single out an ethnic group and describe the event only revolving around them are a distortion of history.

NB: There seems to be allegedly "rape photo" circulating around Chinese website that purportedly attributed to 1998 riots. Those were later proven to be fake photo from **** website "Sexy Asian Schoolgirls".

May 1998 is a dark chapter in our history and we are grieving for ALL the victims regardless of their ethnicity. We want to make sure such tragedy will never happen again.
