Could DCS World be training tool for PAF?

. .
I wouldn't have the money for it for at least 2 years ,
Whatever is good then

Then in the meantime get a Track IR it’s much cheaper.

I have it now and would want better options in VR before transitioning.

What’s in your rig?

I have a 1070ti which does fairly well.

Yes, I agree Pakistan does have advanced simulators that are expensive. I'm saying new cadets that have no cockpit experience could try out flying the F-16 or JF-17. Agree with @Horus?

New cadets go through gliding at PAF College that is much better than sims

Plus, new sim requires exact simulation of AC avionics and weapons, so you wont find such things accurate on commercial sims like DCS.

PAF sims are advance and replicate exact aircraft functionality. Thats why they wont let civilians like us fly. I went to Kamra once at Air Show and requested my cousin for a sim ride but he refused for same reasons

Nah I've seen it , didn't like it much ,
I barely managed to save for a 1060 with a 8th gen i7 and 16gb ddr4, it is VR ready though so should work , however being just 18 very hard to earn money, so 2 years is good time to get rift , plus I might be in kakul by call this year so there's that too

To get the best out of VR consider a better graphics card.

1080 or better supposedly.

1060 is barely enough.

But otherwise very nice.

I have a Coffee Lake i5 8400 and the 1070Ti with 32 DDR4.

I also run it on a dedicated SSD which really speeds up the loading.

SSD prices are super reasonable now and make quite a difference in performance. (at least in load times)

Really hoping ray tracing makes its way into DCS.

Will be an absolute game changer in terms of visuals I think.

Also in regards to the subject of the thread, DCS is supposedly highly realistic in terms of flight models and avionics.

For the newbie, I would think it would be useful and fairly cheap to at least have some immersion into training.

I can’t see why it would be a disservice at least if not an outright benefit.

A-10, and F/A-18 are exact replicas. The Air Force National Guard in the US used the DCS simulator for taking A-10 operators to A-10C standards.

Even USAF uses it for training.

May be they have a customized solution from DCS or they are comfortable with allowing a comercial company to replicate exact features of F-18 etc

DCS can be good for cadets or even for pilots , however it can never replace a full blown simulator trainer ,
However it is much cheaper so many can be used at the same time with multiplayer so pilots can test out stuff or just have fun while learning ,
While for younger cadets it can be extremely beneficial for team work building and tactics understanding

Do the flight simulators in PAF inventory have multiple player connection?

. .
it looks very simple and hence very cost effective .......... that is the whole purpose of having simulators is that they are very cost effective .......... plus its part of Basic training .......... during every phase , the cadets are first trained on a simulator and then on real machine
