Could bicycle be the next big export earner for Bangladesh?

Oh man that is an expensive Bike.
I am perfectly happy with my Lectric xp Class 3 ebike $899.
Just ordered one for wife also since she was always taking it for a ride and I was getting stuck riding the regular bicycle :(
Yes because lots of efforts spend on making the bikes.

.
Bangladesh is a natural destination for bicycle manufacturing with our low labour costs.

. .
Nonsense
We make high priced stuff too.
Electric bike $3,500 apiece for top model
The Saigon-plus electric bicycle pictured with the Ho Chi Minh City skyline in the background.

The Modmo Saigon+ electric bicycle
3500 is entry in electric bikes. There are more expensive models

Yes thats a cannondale systemsix.

Its a highend bicycle for speed.

I think there are many companies making good carbon fibre bicycles with Giant being one of them.

What is Bangladesh offering?

Bangladesh offers basic Carbon fiber framesets at this time. Manufacturing was started last year by a large outfit called Veloce (Meghna) bikes I believe. OEM manufacturing only for now.

.
Bangladesh seems to be the second largest exporter of textiles.

Did a Fact Check on Veloce bicycles.

None of them were carbon Fiber Frames.

So far only alloy. Not even lightweight alloy.

So Nothing Special

And you are correct, but still far behind China.

Indian textile was left in the lurch a long time ago.

They simply aren't active, productive and efficient enough.

Pakistan however is recently doing very well, especially in home textiles, as they should.

But I did not mean to hijack the thread...
Thankyou!

Been Riding for 7 years now.

Its a hobby.

Great hobby brother. Keep it going.

You are correct, 6061 alloy is rather on the low end.

Like I said, they started Carbon Frameset manufacturing in December 2020. Will take a few months for production and exports to take off.

They serve volume markets in EU, not niche high priced products like your bike which is super high end. :-)

How many people are dedicated enough to blow $8000 or more on a bike?

Right now we are giving heart attacks to some folks just talking about it.

But I believe @padamchen was a bike enthusiast like you, don't know if he got unbanned.

Gotta make them in the millions in Bangladesh, to utilize low-priced labor value addition.

But they've come a long way from steel tubes, just a few decades ago. There are many bike makers/exporters in Bangladesh, but mostly they sell steel tube low end bikes you can get at large dept. stores in the US/EU with Chinese groupsets. Some are also exporting alloy tube bikes but not even low end Shimano derailleurs that I know of.

Only Meghna has gone into Carbon Framesets so far AFAIK.

Good for you. Keep it up.

I'm thinking to get me a Trek dual sport hybrid when back in stock.

@Al-zakir bhai that will set you back around $600-700 at the low end probably. I'd make sure the frame size fits.
