@Mista

Seriously what was the designer/planner of this circuit thinking?

Vietnam F1 GP is not designed for weaklings. The circuit takes a breeze from Singapore and Germany then mixed with Vietnam fighting spirit. Welcome :D

I understand how u might be feeling, i myself was elated when Indian GP was introduced.
But honestly this track isnt gonna be fun, 2/3rd section is meant for flatout driving, which is horrible for pretty much every team besides ferrari and mercedes and even more so for haas (its american team, maybe vietnam showing them finger again) and renault powered cars. So basically besides merc and ferrari, everyone would be crying and no racing. Those two teams would lap even Red Bull here after about half the race and other teams much before that.

Nonsense nobody in Vietnam would give Finger to any foreign guest. Our culture forbids such gesture. I read the design of Hanoi street circuit is closely worked with F1 owner organization. So that should not worry any team just the racers have to adapt to the new environment as other circuits. Why India withdrew from GP? I it about the cost?

My finger reference was towards viet war against america. Drivers cant really do much is the engine isnt powerful enough. On those straights ferrari and merc would literally catch any car from way back even without having to use DRS. DRS becomes available to the chase car if the gap is 1 second or below, in those straights top ferrari and merc would be able to catch even if the gap is around 4 sec, thats huge!!

2014 indian GP was dropped coz JP group (owner of BIC) wanted race to be scheduled in october 2014 so they have enough time to prepare the track for the event, but FIA wanted it to take place in April 2014. Previous race took place in october and 6 months isnt enough to prepare the track. So it got cancelled and was slated to return in 2015. In 2015, State govt wanted to levy tax but FIA refused so it was cancelled. The deal was for 5 years and was to expire in 2015. So it never returned.

Congrats @Viet

Too bad our F 1 racer Rio Haryanto dont race anymore at Manor team, but we still have Sean Gelael who also has experience with F 1 race (Toro rosso team), so I hope Sean Gelael can race at Vietnam 2020
