Chucked out by Pakistan, ailing 'Afghan girl' to get free med treatment in India

We welcomes Afghans .But we need long term solution.
Full fledged medical facilities in Afghanistan.

. .
She paid the rent and later bought a house.

Never, she earned it and fed her own self, Pakistan can barely fed it's own people feeding refugees is even impossible to think of, don't act like a European welfare state. Better Pakistan should account for her funds from UNHCR and National Geographic which a Pakistani journalist has stolen for years

I doubt it, but it's clear you put in jail a widow of 4 children suffering from critical health issues for having fake id card; 100s of Taliban commanders are living in satellite town Quetta with fake ids but no one bothers to jail them this is height of begherati.

Yes we are unthankful for putting a hopeless women in jail for a shitty reason and stealing her NG donations.

Try to understand this is how Indians have won hearts and minds of Afghans, your KPK government had extended her stay but she refused to stay keep your kicks in it's place.

We have had 5 million refugees from your side , around 500000 rohingya's and thousands of African refugees from Somalia , Chad and Ethopia . We must be doing something right that is why they keep on coming to us. Afghan refugees had become a security threat and had to go . Still around 2 million left will deported soon .

And yes we are not Europe as no European country will host refugees for 4 decades . Almost half of your country has lived in Pakistan one way or another .

Indian hospitals would also provide assistance to Kabul in areas of capacity building of the country’s health professionals, pharma sector, telemedicine, tele-radiology, medical tourism, consultancy and public private partnership.

So after Pakistan trained an entire generation of Afghans to become Talibanis and jehadis, India is training the next generation to become doctors and health professionals and radiologists and pharmacists.

Nice.

We lost way way...way more than we gained fiscally speaking, and the Soviets ruined their nation then subsequently their own leaders/warlords.Kudos

The leaders and warlords who were trained by Pakistan, and hosted by Pakistan, right?

Bismillah ir Rahman ar Raheem

People who break the laws of a land they willingly come to, should face the consequences. Forging documents would have a more severe punishment rendered in most lands than just deportation and a little bit of "jail" time.

Whenever the Afghan government bestows its kindnesses upon us, I feel the need to join in the chorus 'KICK THEM ALL OUT'.

But I remember that I was in Peshawar in the Eighties. The very brothers who these days espouse Pakhtunwali, were worried that their brothers (from ACROSS the border it was the mantra, then) would eat them out of their houses and homes.

I wondered to them if it was Allah who provided 'Rizq' (sustenance) and would he, just maybe, feed the refugees and add even more to the banquet tables of the refugees' hosts.

The mills and factories of my land had ground to dust in front of my eyes in the Seventies, the country split into half, brother was fighting brother, the half of what was left was being split again into many pieces by outside and internal forces.

Then, Allah rebuilt our factories, people stopped killing each other, and the Soviet Union was split into a dozen parts instead.

Then 2001 and afterwards. One side says 'You are killing women and children, 70 at a time, just to appease your American Masters', the other says 'You are killing our civilians and children just to antagonise the American Devils and what you consider its puppet Army'. People who never lifted a hand against a Pakistani (or a Westerner for that matter) were being picked up, tortured, and 'renditioned'. In turn, people who never lifted a hand against a Pakistani or a Muslim were being slaughtered for supporting the Western Devil, and not even being given any chances to apologize and atone for their "sins".

So, come the Floods and the Earthquakes. Corruption rampant (ten times as much as before). No Water. No Electricity. No Gas. Long lines for Fuel. No money re-equip our forces. Cheap grains imported at a markup to replace the good quality sold abroad at a pittance. We are sent back to the STONE AGE almost - by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, or their buffoon of a puppet President? or maybe it was our just rewards for forgetting something ...

We are all God's children (even Karl Rove and his puppets). We are not Youthias, Nooras, Punjabi, Pathan, Pakistani, Afghan, Army, Taliban. This land and all lands and all the people in the lands, all their creatures and the bounties therein, belong to One. Nothing is mine to give, take away, or steal.

God's creatures don't belong to any sect, any religious or political party, any nationality. These are constructs of our own making.

Take from all this what you will.

Only Allah knows best and his Messengers who have passed away. Mayhaps, perchance, there were a book or some books we could turn to for Guidance.

Allah keep everyone safe.

Before you drown under indian "graciousness" of treating one single afghan for publicity stunt, do not forget Pakistan has hosted more than 3 million Afghans for over 36 years. Also do not forget that these same Indians were lap dancing to soviets when they were busting your arses and you came crying and bleeding to Pakistan for help. I have seen many thankless people in life but never a whole country full of shameless backstabbers. If you people had an ounce of shame and integrity, you would teach your next 10 generations to bow to Pakistan for what we have done for you, but you being an afghan I'll let that pass

NEW DELHI: 'Afghan girl' Sharbat Gula, who gained global recognition after being featured on the cover of the National Geographic in 1984 and who was deported from Pakistan to Afghanistan last week, will be travelling to India for free medical treatment after she was found to be suffering from Hepatitis C and other health complications.

Sharbat, in her 40s now, was deported from Pakistan after it was found that she was residing in the country for the last three decades with false documents. In 1984, when snapped by award-winning photographer Steve McCurry, she was residing in Pakistan. Sharbat along with her three sons was received in Afghanistan by President Ashraf Ghani following her deportation from Pakistan.

Sharbat will reportedly be treated at a Bengaluru-based hospital. Following India’s offer to treat Sharbat free of cost, Afghanistan Ambassador to India Dr Shaida Abdali thanked the government for it. “The iconic Afghan Sharbat Gula will soon be in India for medical treatment free of cost — Thank you India for being a true friend!” Abdali tweeted.

Large numbers of Afghans come to India for medical treatment every year. Earlier this year, a special pact was inked between Kabul and nine renowned Indian hospitals to provide economical access for Afghan patients to health services. As per the agreement, Afghan patients are now billed as per charges applicable to Indians.

Indian hospitals would also provide assistance to Kabul in areas of capacity building of the country’s health professionals, pharma sector, telemedicine, tele-radiology, medical tourism, consultancy and public private partnership.

EXCELLENT!!

So finally India will follow in Pakistan's footsteps and actually do something about those displaced people. Great!!
It will be actually VERY VERY welcoming if other countries like Indian, China America etc share the burden with Pakistan who, despite not being a rich county itself, have been sheltering and providing for MILLIONS of Afghan refugess for decades now.

Good step. Really appreciated!!

I second you . I don't like Afghan government but their people should be given a good life . For decades afghanistan is in state of war. If India or America take some refugees from us and give them a good life in their country . It would be best for us and for them also .

India has never shut its doors towards refugees. India houses equal if not more than what Pakistan has. We have refugees from Bangladesh,Pakistan,Afghanistan ,Bhutan,Nepal,Muslim Rohinygas from Myanmar, Tibet, Sri Lanka , Sudan, Somalia and other sub Saharan African countries. Except we have not signed the refugee treaty and as far as I know, neither has Pakistan.
