Chinese special force tops medal tally in Golden Owl international sniper competition

The five-day Golden Owl international sniper competition concluded in Kazakhstan on June 25. According to the introduction of the PLA Army, the participating Chinese sniper team won first place in 7 competition items among all 14, ranking first in both the golden metal tally and the medal tally. This is the best result that Chinese Special Forces could get with Chinese made sniper weapons.
Held in the Spassk training facility in Karaganda Region, this is the first time the competition allowed participants to use domestic weapons. A total of 22 teams from 7 countries took part in the competition and China sent 5 soldiers from the 26th group army to represent the Chinese Special Forces in the competition.
This five-day competition focused on participants' sniper abilities. Facing complicated terrain and situations, the participants, burdened with 25 kilograms of equipment, had to finish a series of sniper tasks. A total of 14 single item golden medals and 3 group medals were awarded.
At the sniper group confrontation subject held at the end of the competition, the Chinese sniper group of Zhu Qianling and Zhang Shuang won all the 21 rounds of sniper confrontation and got a golden medal. At last, the Chinese team won a total of 9 medals, among which 7 were golden medals.
