Chinese scientists develop world's 1st oral HDAC inhibitor

These incomes are of Americans. All of them, be it Chinese, or Indians are American passport holders.
Here, Chinese or Indians on visa are not included.

I have already read this article.
This distorts figures because of relative weight of manufacturing.
Auto Sector is huge economically speaking, and is also the best automated. Almost 50% of world's robots are sold in automotive sector alone.
You will need to have a bigger better picture to make definite inferences.
So, you need a more detailed picture, not this lump sum one.

No. The household income information can only be obtained either when you fill your tax return forms every year, or population census every decade in USA. Both methods include everybody physically living in USA, no matter what status they are on. The tax return way is a more reliable resource. Everybody needs to do the same tax fill thing, even you are just a temporary visitor in USA. In the tax forms, there is no space to fill your citizenship status or immigrant status, IRS just does not care. Only a social security number if you have legal status, or tax-return number if u don't. So, household income calculation also includes everybody.

Finally. A bragging. Now I believe you are an indian

Care to share some thoughts on why indians are so successful in the US? some of my friends told me they think the indians are good at 1)english 2)talking 3)office politics 4)nepotism which makes them much easier to get into management positions than the chinese, hence the better pay. but I think maybe they are saying this out of jealousy

5) lack of mistrust by western society as they think all Chinese work for CPC!

Chinese scientists find gene that improves rice yields by 20 per cent

Chinese scientists have discovered a new “dwarf” gene in rice, which could increase the yield of the most productive hybrid rice in China by a further 20 per cent.

By reducing the rice plant’s height, the gene reduced the incidence of stem collapse prior to harvest and increased the number of tillers per plant, enabling a significant increase in grain yield.

The study, led by professor Wu Yuejin with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Hefei Institute Physicial Science and professor Fu Xiangdong of the CAS Institute of Genetics and Development Biology, was detailed in the journal Plos One earlier this month.

To feed the world’s largest population, China launched an ambitious project to develop high-yielding “super rice” in the mid 1990s. Over time scientists had significantly improved the productivity of hybrid rice, and by last year the yield of “super rice” plants had exceeded 15 tons per hectare, nearly three times the global average.

But the yield increase came with a problem. Farmers complained that the super rice plants, with their heavy heads of grains, were prone to snapping, especially in windy days before harvest.

A lot of research worldwide has gone into trying to find sturdy stems. Wu and Fu’s team chose to bombard rice seeds with heavy ions and after some years found that some seeds mutated to produce plants with reduced heights and an increased number of tillers.

The scientists identified the mutant gene and called it sdt, meaning “semi-dwarf and high-tillering”.

Further experiments confirmed the discovery and then the gene was cloned onto super rice, resulting in reduced plant heights and an increase in yield of over 20 per cent.

Though the super rice was more productive than traditional hybrid rice, “the continuing growth of the world’s population and the limited arable land resources require that grain yield capability of rice will have to be raised yet further,” the researchers said in their paper.

The sdt mutant “will be useful for farmers and breeders to improve grain yield potential of rice over what is currently available.”

I think you just imply too much from a unsure thing. Remember on that household income list, Philippine is closely listed as No.2, so all you talk about Indians also applied to Pinoys? The real reason, as I guess, just like Pinoy's case, is that Indian immigrants have a much larger part of H1 visa holders, who were brought in to USA by Indian-based or related companies, mostly in IT area. While for Pinoy's case, I believe they are mostly H1 visa holders in America's hospitals. On the contrary, when you look at Chinese people in USA, however, a large part of them are on B visa and F visa. H visa holders are just a small part of Chinese in USA. Take a look at people working in China town, u never find any indian town in USA with that scale. And, people like those in Falun Gong, got political visas. Those on visas other than H visa mostly are not allowed to work legally in USA, and obviously have much less average income than those who can work legally. That is the reason to explain household income question. But still, Chinese household income are above American average (No. 12 on the list?), thanks to the Chinese who got citizenship or permanent residency.
So Supa Powans are proud their overseas Powans don't go back to shitty place while Chinese are not satisfied when thousands of experts and scientists are going home.

The title is wrong. As I know, SAHA is much earlier than this drug, and approved in 2006

How can they want to go back when their country is top 2 (and probably top 1 by now) illegal immigrant provider from Asia to the US.

They are desperate. Besides, why would they want to go back to a place where hundreds of millions do squat outside every single day?

They are indeed coming back, albeit in less degree to China, all due to opportunities.

Also, why don't you guys, especially Taishang, stop this India bashing thing? Taishang uses India as if its a slur.

Also, what you must understand is that everything is about degree. An american can say the same about you guys, things like "Chinese have to eat air" etc.
Have a neutral analysis, and don't come down to slurring, or remarks bordering on racism.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) opened its first fair in Asia on Monday in Shanghai.

Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) of the United States, International CES Asia has attracted more than 200 science and technology companies from 15 countries and regions.

Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said the event is meant to display and explore products and ideas in areas such as the Internet of Things, 3-D printers, robotics and wearable devices.

A number of topics will be discussed, including the consumer electronics market prospects of China and the United States, the impact of the Internet of Things and the technological revolution in wearable devices.

The event is scheduled to last three days.

International CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology trade show that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

China is developing incredibly fast and leaving others behind especially that overhyped and overrated country with supa powah fantasies
