Xiaomi announced that it has shipped more than a million TVs in India in the last nine months. Citing it to be an industry-first achievement, Xiaomi said that it is a “key milestone” for the company. The Chinese OEM quoting a report by market research firm IDC (International Data Corporation) said that Xiaomi’s Smart TV segment took the first spot in the country in the second quarter of 2018.

Xiaomi’s Smart TV brand entered India’s TV market earlier this year. The company in August this year announced that it managed to sell over half a million Smart TVs in over six months across the online platform and via Mi Home as well. The Diwali sale that ran between October 9 to October 11 attributed another 1,00,000 Mi LED TVs sale in the country. Xiaomi stated that this led the company to ship 4,00,000 Mi LED TVs in less than a month. The robust sale was also possible due to the “aggressive performance” of Mi LED TVs in the offline market, as per the company.

Xiaomi in its press note stated that Mi LED TVs managed to become the most-rated TVs online with over 2,00,000 ratings. As per the company, the Mi LED TV 4A 32-inch alone gathered over 1,00,000 ratings. To recall, Xiaomi brought the Mi LED Smart TV 4A 32-inch and 43-inch models in India in March this year for a price starting at Rs 13,999. The high-end model features a full HD panel, while the 32-inch model offers HD video playback. Both the Mi LED Smart TV 4A variants are powered by a quad-core Amlogic processor and support DTS sound technology to offer immersive audio experience.

“We are extremely proud to be sharing another Mi TV milestone with our fans and thankful for all the love. It took us years of planning to get the hardware design, smart Patchwall User Interface and software partnerships to deliver a truly smart TV experience for India and we are glad that over a million Indians put their faith in our product. Based on what we know, no other brand has ever achieved this in India,” Raghu Reddy, Head Category and Online Sales, Xiaomi India said.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro India launch likely before November 20, can be priced around Rs 15,000

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in Thailand in September. The company will be making the phone official in Indonesia today. As of now, there are no official words regarding the India launch of the Redmi Note 6 Pro, but a report coming from 91 Mobiles reveals new details about the India launch details of the phone. According to the report, the Redmi Note 6 Pro could be launching in India before November 20. In Thailand, the Redmi Note 6 Pro was launched for 6,990 baht which roughly translates to Rs 15,600.

Some reports reveal that even in Indonesia, the smartphone could be priced around Rs 16,000. And we expect the same pricing when the smartphone comes to India. The Redmi Note 6 Pro will succeed one of the most popular smartphones by the company in recent times, the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Note 5 Pro received immense popularity in India ever since its launch, and the same is expected of the Redmi Note 6 Pro when it comes to India.

In India, the Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version is priced at Rs 14,999, while the top-end version with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 16,999. The Redmi Note 6 Pro has been launched only in one variant in Thailand, that is, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is further expandable up to microSD card. Compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro isn't a major upgrade. The only areas where the new Redmi phone gets improved are in the design, screen size and camera department. Infact, the camera setup is the best thing about the Redmi Note 6 Pro. It comes with two cameras on both front and the back. The four cameras on the Redmi Note 6 Pro makes the Xiaomi phone the first one to have four cameras under the Rs 20,000 price tag, that is, if only Xiaomi prices the phone so aggressively.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro, much like the Redmi 6 Pro comes with a notched display. In India, this will be the second Redmi phone to pack notched display. The smartphone sports a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and screen-to-body-ratio of 86 per cent and covered with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass. Similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Note 6 Pro is also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset and as noted, comes paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD card.

The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup on the back and also on the front. On the back, it packs a primary sensor of 12-megapixel with Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.9 aperture, and a secondary sensor of 5-megapixel for depth sensing. On the front, the phone includes a primary sensor of 20-megapixel with Superpixel, f/2.0 aperture, and a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel for dynamic portrait shots. The smartphone comes with a massive 4000mAh battery similar to that of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. In Thailand, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has been launched in three colour variants -- Black, Blue and Rose Gold.
