Chinese attack helicopters could soon replace American Cobras in Pakistan

Cobars are going to be upgraded to fire Barq missile and Zumar FLIR.This will likely gave them about 10 more years/

I have a question here, I've never seen ONE Pakistani Cobra, ever fitted with missiles. Seems like one hard point usually has rocket pods, and the second on each corner, which has a hard point and hookups for TOW missiles (4 total), are always kept empty.
Is there a reason behind just running on rockets and machine guns?

The Z-10 is taking baby steps in its development and production. It has yet to be installed with a MMW radar and more powerful turboshafts; until then, the helicopter will be limited in regards to its armor, payload, and electronics.
I know. I've tried saying this exact same thing, but every time I do, I get bombarded with jerks who accuse me of insulting China.

@SinoSoldier

Just wait till PA is done with its battlefield testing, many new aspects will be added. PA has 30 years of experiance with Gunships, the feed back for Z-10 upgrade will be decisive :D

i was having chat with my old pal he works at PAA he told may for past 5 years Pakistan has asked US to sell AH-1 to us but US has denied because of Indian pressure,Z-10 or AH-10 will be backbone of our gunship fleet these three helos are latest of Chinese Tech(hats off to friendship)they will be tested in all areas of Pakistan, using our feed back Chinese would produce a customized variant for Pakistan if this variant fails to meet our requirement. Our and Chinese doctrine is different and china is likely to built her doctrine with our help but last word this Chopper is not for sale to anyone except Pakistan,It's use in ops Zareb e Azab is not going to be significant because burraq UCAV is taildog destruction machine, but it's future use is main emphasis.

It is loaded with up to eight TOW or Baktar shikan(ATGM's)but those all pics you have seen are from Anti Terror Ops in that mission this load is good enough,TOW's for bunker destruction and rockets, gun for support.

The Cobras were inducted in the early eighties and need to be phased out after 3 decades of service.

The Cobras have serviced Pakistan well.

no doubt but airframe service life extension programs are also on card, any how they are not going to retire any time soon.
If we are going to spend million $$$ on these old pieces, then we should move to chinese or russian helis.
Cobra's are aging now, Old Tech can't be improved to latest Tech.

They are combat proven, i don't think fitting a Zumar EOP,burraq missile and improving Night fighting capability will cost this.

Get my point dude........You can't fit 1000 CC engine in Suzuki Mehran...Cobra's are definitely awesome birds but they can be upgraded to a limited level so it's better to focus on Z-10 or T-129.

Anyways you are free to have your opinion but Ah-1 is not going to retire sooner,Wz-10 will be backbone of our PAA along with Mi-35 but it will take time because training, logistics and efficiency of new platform is time consuming process.

these days cobras are use less just simply store them and forget the story modern attack choppers are far far advanced then rusty cobras .

With US Permission:

Send them to Jordan for ever to fight against terrorists. Also, Turkey, Philippines and Bahrain should do the same.

Bahrain, QATAR and Kuwait can buy ATAK!!!

Also then Jordan can better take on those terrorist with US and other former operators can supply them with free or low cost for spares.
