Chinese leaders observed a minute of silence for coronavirus victims at the start of its biggest political gathering of the year. The opening session of China's top political advisory body started one day before the National People's Congress. The government is facing unprecedented pressure over its handling of the pandemic, tensions with the United States and a slowing economy hit hard by COVID-19. Al Jazeera's Katrina Yu reports from Beijing on that and other pressures faced by China's leaders.

What the F? China was under pressure since 1840.
What the F? New China was under pressure since 1949.

Tell me, is there a single day China was not under pressure? So what? China beat all pressure and keep growing.

There is only one enemy China can NOT beat, that's ourselves.

Chinese don't rely on others' mercy.

Go back to 2016, July 12th, when the UN tribunal made its ruling about the South China Sea. Pro-CCP posters on these boards were laughing about "kangaroo court" and "empty pivot to Asia" and how "so many countries backed China with the South China Sea", etc. etc. Pro-CCP posters were having a real party, seemingly free from pressure.

But now its pressure pressure "always pressure since 1849".

The last three decades have been very generous to the PRC. A world market that consumed so much Chinese goods with little concern about geopolitics.

But now Pro-CCP posters want to cry and go back to selective memory to serve victimization role.

Do what u preach but I guess some will be selective to pick on things while acting to be righteous. A bully try calling out other as oppressive. :enjoy:

i think it is very difficult for factories to move out of china as they have very large population and large number of skilled trained labor which play an important role to keep labor cost low for highly skilled labor as compared to any other country hence enhancing profitability,If they move outside china they have to spend much money on training of workforce as well as infrastructure for factories which will put burden on them and will hinder their growth

.
What UN tribunal? Can you prove that this tribunal derived its authority from the UN?

Fair point.

So as has been laughed about back in 2016, it was a "kangaroo court".

But now its victimization about "forever pressure"

Booo hooo

.
The South China Sea Arbitration ruling were so scandalizing that even Philippines want to forget about it.

Why is Japanese making noise.

I repeat again, Pro-CCP posters on these boards were all high spirits with the building of man-made islands and bases on them while the greatest response to it was the Kangaroo Court and the beginning of once in while FONOPs. The pressure they cry about now and claim they always had was by no means evident to them at that time.

Sure bud...

On 12 July 2016, the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruled in favor of the Philippines. It clarified that it would not "...rule on any question of sovereignty over land territory and would not delimit any maritime boundary between the Parties".[8][9] The tribunal also ruled that China has "no historical rights" based on the "nine-dash line" map.[8][9] China has rejected the ruling, as has Taiwan.[10][11]

China has been under pressure since she has become challenge to US and west.

Handling of pandemic is not issue; if China handled badly then why the victims in China is much lower than US and Europe? why China has stop the victim growth while with other countries the victims are still growing fast? From there, you were supposed to know already who handle the pandemic badly :)

The ruling infringe Vietnam rights as well.
