What's new

China’s top talent now wants to work for rising domestic tech stars, not big brand multinationals

Ok that is their choice in spending money on foreign university then return home because it’s better at home.

I mean that sounds funny but ok.

Not really because many of the rich families in China think that having a foreign degree is prestigious even though the reality is that they don't really get much of an advantage in the Chinese job market nowadays. Also, they go overseas to gain a greater life experience, some may even work a few years overseas after graduating but nowadays most of the Chinese students are heading back home because there is more opportunity there.

Certainly newly arrived Vietnamese immigrants that work in nails shops, restaurants, etc speak a bad English. I mean other Vietnamese that attend university and colleges.

We don't have that many Vietnamese who just come here for university, maybe there will be more in the future as Vietnam develops. There are a lot of Chinese students but I only really noticed the large numbers maybe 10 years ago.

There is a flaw in your logic. But you can believe to what you like to believe. My impression is most of you believe to your own created propaganda.

Ok, you sound like you are just fanatically anti-China. Whatever man. I am not even spouting Chinese propaganda here, read my other posts. I'm just talking about the facts.

I wonder why they spend $100,000 on education to get a Master degree. But instead of trying to get a $100,000 job, they return to motherland China to get a $10,000 per year job?

Ok I know you will say they are patriots. Money is the last thing they want.

Did you read the article? It said, "Even on pay and benefits, CTC is catching up with multinationals. Zhang said Xiaomi matched the offer from the Boeing unit in the US and many leading tech firms offer benefits such as gym memberships and childcare facilities."

Big Chinese companies are offering better salaries and benefits than MNCs nowadays. The gdp per capita in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai exceed $20,000 so it means many people are making more than the average. Also, prices are much cheaper in China, so a person can buy more goods with $20,000 than a person in the US.
