Southforward.com – The Pentagon says that the US can easily destroy a Chinese-made island located in the South China Sea.

This was revealed by Lieutenant General Kenneth F McKenzie in his statement to journalist.

The Pentagon’s senior general said after a question to him asking if the United States could destroy a small island made in Beijing in the South China Sea.

“I would just say that the United States military has a lot of experience in the Western Pacific that drops small islands,” he said.

“Breaking down isolated small islands is core competence,” McKenzie added.

Not without cause, the Pentagon General’s statement coincided with Beijing’s criticism of the United States which accused China of militarizing in the disputed area of the South China Sea. Beijing considers Washington’s allegations “ridiculous”.

He also said that during World War II, the US was also able to destroy the islands of the Western Pacific.

“One thing, do not read anything other than a simple statement of historical facts,” he said, referring to US military maneuvers in the Western Pacific during World War II in destroying Japanese-controlled islands like Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Tarawa.
