There is no doubt that F-35 is better than J-31 but even F-35 is not a proven Platform ... only time will tell us how and what it will become ...

After building 150 JF-17 Pakistan should phase it out then license J-31 and manufacture it in Pakistan.

If you look at below pics of mock up at air show in China during 2014 then you will know that J-31 is going to be redesigned and revamped and it look more inspired from F-22 then F-35.
