China's Defense Ministry has given an update on the progress of the talks between China and Japan on its website.

In a brief three-line text, the ministry confirmed that some consensus had been reached on the key details of establishing the maritime crisis mechanism. It highlighted progress on solving maritime and air issues through negotiation, including the technical problems.

Both sides have agreed to launch the mechanism as soon as possible, once the fine details have been ironed out.

@TaiShang , @terranMarine , @Chinese-Dragon --- good to see this development.

Japan can launched joint ownership of the island and joint natural resources exploration.

I think that it will come towards that. Btw, Japan and China had a Joint-Exploration in the Chunxiao Gas Fields back in 2008. I think that will be resumed again.
