CHINA’s biggest problem? Not enough PEOPLE for the FUTURE

High population is not good.
Less people means more per capita resources and land. And more people means less per capita resources.
the strcture of the age is importent i you have 30% people over age 65 or 70 you are in problem you must more young people at age work to keep grow the economy

Old chinese will not be able to build or operate Robots.

Old people can enjoy their retirement. You don't need everyone building and operating robots, and that's the whole point of having robots.

.
Automation only affects certain part of the economy like manufacturing. China needed more people than it currently have in order to enjoy the same economic progress.

No not only manufacturing. Smart robot and AI is entering service industry as well; from hotel, banking, hospital, delivery, restaurant, even lawyer and consultant.

Just like many electronics and mechanical goods, I don't think they will be made of Chinese indigenous technologies. The Chinese companies that are relevant (Siasun, Honyen and etc) in the field lag behind of companies from Japan, Europe and America and I don't see any change in the industry at the moment that may shift the trend in favor of Chinese firms within 5 years.

It is not about robotic or automated factory, but it is about "SMART MANUFACTURING; and smart manufacturing is more than just robot.

Automation is certainly not new, but digital transformation is so much more than robots assembling parts – it’s destined to disrupt every link in the manufacturing value chain and virtually lead us into the fourth industrial revolution: the cyber-physical age. As data takes center stage, connectivity and cloud, big data and IoT, and AI and virtualization will act in concert to create a new business paradigm

Smart manufacturing: More than just robots

Although in robot tech (mechatronics) China is still behind Japan, but in the connectivity and cloud, big data and IoT, and AI and virtualization, China is ahead Japan and Europe. This will make China lead in smart manufacturing.

That is right. China will be a nation of old people enjoying the services of robots.

Even China population will get older.
But in 2050, their working age population still very very large. 2x times bigger than whole population of US A

But it will be a doomed era for Over-population country like india.
With all the automation in the future industry, the productivity will rising and the cost will be much lower than using human labor.

That's mean, to be keep forcing your industry to use human labor. India need to give the labor wages as low as they can to compete with Automation industry in other countries.

Indian people will be trapped in Lower Middle income in the future.
Not good

Automation is not coming on such scales, it's unrealistic. The amount of manual work will be far exceeding supply for as far as I can see

This is the best time to start integrating countries with large young populations into the Chinese supply chain. Training their workers and building up their economies will provide ready markets for Chinese products. There is only so much that can be done economically with robots. It will also help keep countries in an economically symbiotic relationship with China. The only catch would be that investment into these countries would have to be FDI and not loans; shared risk shared reward, and a greater incentive to help these countries and their industries to become competitive.

Demand would dramatically increase as standards of living increase, and all of these countries would be sympathetic to The Chinese as the ones that helped them develop. The Chinese would also be able to have enclaves all over the world where they could send their elderly people, and be cared for by Mandarin or Cantonese speaking locals, in state of the art nursing homes at affordable prices. As the world ages, many locals in these countries could even move into similar nursing homes. A global network of Chinese nursing homes could allow people to stay in one for some time and move to the next one so they can experience a new country after a few years.

This would also free the one child policy adults from having to take care of their grandparents and parents all by themselves. They could visit them and afford to work as Chinese industries move up the value added chain and send their manual labor work to other countries.

Chinese society is made up of family as a unit, unlike in the West where individuals fence for themselves. Although western influences have gain grounds in Chinese society, leading to some cases of old people left to care for themselves but these are only very small in number: Confucianism has a deep root over in China where 孝Filial piety is an essential part of family bondage. (Funny that I have never come across these words "Filial piety" on any English reading material till today! It show the lack of it in Western society).

Filial piety is an awareness of repaying the burden borne by one's parents. As such, filial piety is done to reciprocate the care one's parents have given. However, it is also practiced because of an obligation towards one's ancestors.

The Westerns that painted the sorry affairs of old people being left un-care of, actually reflects the Wester society rather than the Chinese society that works in different ways. Chinese care for their family names, clans and ancestors.

Unless there is strong personal grudges against a particular old person from the family due to family conflicts, no old person will likely be left alone in the family or in a community as in remote mountain villages (where their children work in far away cities).

There is big difference between general state of affair for old lonely Westerners and Chinese, where old age care is concerned, regardless of the age of demographics because Socialism works in China.
