Each bus can replace 10 - 20 cars or 30 - 40 bikes. How will adding more traffic decongest the same?
Why is there an Indian-made Scania in the pic/video above?
It's not an Indian serially-made bus, DC or not. It's a customized one-off concept by DC in India - maybe for some Bollywood star or something. This is *not* in serial production. Dilip Chhabria's company makes custom concepts like this all the time. Why images are showing a Scania bus with DC design!
And india gives them the gobar.

And Scania buses aren't made in India from scratch. They are assembled mostly from parts assemblies, most of which are made in (you guessed it) China.
Same for Volvos as well.

Well, India helped them get their nation back from Gobars !! What could possibly replace that ? Market share of Indian companies in their automotive segment is competitive anyways.
Dude !! India has a good automotive industry with the likes of players such as Leyland, TATA and Mahindra playing the lead for decades.
Scania opened up its Manufacturing facility in India before it did in China so your claim that we are assembling just the semi knocked down kits from China is bogus, rather now it should be the other way around as the supply chain has started from India.
it will take any other country at least three decades to catch up with us, and we have moved way upmarket already including green production facilities with eco-balanced waste disposal and smart manufacturing. Good luck competing with us.
I guess we should've set this one up Indian style, having three Bhangi idiots and three hammers banging on steel sheets to make refrigerators. Then you'd like us....
And of course Indian Tata/AL/Mahindra buses cannot compete with Chinese buses in Luxury segment. This has been proven many times over in past years in this very forum.
Chinese don't even need a SCANIA bus plant to make top-grade luxury coaches (unlike India).
Deshprem does not sell buses, they are sold on reliability and quality factors.

The Volvo Group that includes trucks, buses and construction equipment is already exporting construction equipment with 20 percent of the products exported to various countries including South East Asia. Buses we started exporting two years ago to South Africa. The good news is that last year we started exporting to France in Western Europe.
Whatever growth projections we have we will be able to manage with the investments already made. In the last 2-3 years we invested Rs 300 crore and since inception have invested an overall sum of Rs 1000 crore in Bangalore in the Volvo Group. The bus division would roughly account for about 30 percent of the total.
We are ready and already producing Euro VI engines in our Pithampur plant for exporting to Volvo globally.
