China to take countermeasures if U.S. implements tariff measures

China will have to take necessary countermeasures if the U.S. takes the tariff measures, spokesperson of commerce ministry said on Wednesday after the U.S. announced that tariffs on 200 billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese goods would increase to 25 percent from 10 percent on Friday.

China expresses profound regrets over the measures and said it is not in line with the interests of China and U.S. peoples as well as the world, the spokesperson said.

If this was a shooting war, it would be the US "shocked" that it lost one or two aircraft carriers and threatening to escalate to tactical nuclear strikes on Chinese military facilities while China makes it clear that escalation will be met with tactical nuclear strikes on military facilities in Guam, Okinawa and South Korea.
