China to supply 4 attack drones to Pak, prompts India to revive Predator-B plan

. .
LoL we had those drones for years now for testing and evaluation. We might also have evaluated them in field as well . Also one was lost due to engine failure so not sure if PAF proceeded with original order. Also we are working on our in house MALE UAV so makes no sense to induct Chinese solutions now. Pakistan wanted option to replace critical components like engine so either China allowed those changes or we simply just went our own way to build it by procuring components from different suppliers.

Wing long ll is a shity drone. Even 2 of them crashed while testing. If Pakistan want to have Chinese drone it should go for Ch-5 drones. Longer duration with longer range with heavy payload.

CH4 was tested which failed durring evaluations miserably. But its been a while since that happened and now there are other solutions available with proven record. Anyways Pakistan already opted to build an inhouse MALE so there is no chance for an urgent procurement of Chinese drones.

Pakistan should develop a MALE UAV on it's own which can carry 6 Missiles and Bombs and instead of buying CH 5 or WING LONG II from China we should buy this one Cloud Shadow.

Good.
Predator-B is superior.

Oh boy. Didn't you read what the Indian writer has written!!
He says the USA have strict controls on the sale and uses of their drones/weapons.
India getting Predator-B would come with strings attached, and controlled from the USA.

You complained to the USA about use of F 16s in Feb 2019. But now what their drones.
Indian's double standards as always.

This drone has MTCR restrictions also this one is probably more expensive than our thunders.
China gives a dam about those restrictions. China has sold weapons to countries which had sanctions on them. China has sold Ballistic Missiles to Saudi Arabia. Ballistic Missiles like DF 21 and DF 26

Predator-B is superior.
No doubt but in Indian hand its another thing. Indian are so capable and professional that they couldn't find the wreckage of An32 in 2016, Shot down there own heli in 2019, IA tanks gun barrel burst, IN left open the hatch of their submarine and the list goes on.
Pakistan has pretty talented drone makers and recently drones were exported, being competitive internationally. It is a shame that PAF is choosing to go with a Chinese drone "jointly produced" rather than giving its industry a boost - instead, killing local industry, as with no support from Pakistani buyers, Pakistani drone manufacturers will just die out.

In other countries, infant industries are nursed. In Pakistan, they are murdered. Just like they attempted to murder the JF-17, documented in the interview of AVM Latif.
Yes you are right but it will take some time for them to get mature. Till then Pakistan have to use something and its not that bad. It might be possible that Pakistan Male UCAV might be driven by this concept by removing some flaws. It will take time but hopefully these local industries will not go down but only emerge as winner. Local Production is what Pakistan need.

End of.

Actually they are right on this, we are getting UCAV's from the Chinese. These UCAV's are the most advanced Chinese tech and only available to Pakistan for export.

There is a flaw in your judgement here. This is not mutually exclusive.

While true Pakistan has talented drone makers, we haven't reached the capacity yet to build Advanced Top Notch UCAV that can rival the Predators. These Chinese UCAV's give us that ability immediate to have drones up in the air for longer loiter time but also increased payload.

Pakistan has and will continue to focus on building drones that are more geared towards reconn and surveillance. They both can mutually co-exist together. Due to the challenges faced by us immediately, and the long costs of keeping Fighter Aircraft's and Gunships in the Air, these UCAV's are exactly what we need. In fact, we needed these UCAV 5 years ago.
