China to have 1,500 fourth-gen fighters by 2020

I don't think China should spend too much finance into 5th/6th gen Jet fighters. Instead China should spend more on next generation defense fighters like Drones and autonomous jet fighters.

.
Next super power no doubt abt it. By that time there will be 6th generation planes around which it will be working with. Chinas fleet will be very advanced by that time and its military might will be touching over the shores with its economical might. :china:.

We always pick the right horse to ride with when it comes to close friendships. . First USA and it became the super power and now china. :P :P :P

Last time the horse you picked kicked you soo hard that you became failed state :D. Beware of next horse.

Oh come on we are not a failed state but yeah we will be careful. Besides this horse is more interested in economical take over then a military or proxy take over. Which i might add is much much more effective.

Has a Chinese developed, manufactured and piloted warplane ever fired a shot in anger ? You know, with other people shooting at it ?

Both economies are strong Enough to match china together Plus Nato Ohh shit :D:Dchinese policy makers that stupid i bet they are not loosing growing power like india to Usa chinese are digging their own graves. Time will tell who will be the the Dark horse.

I'll take that as a 'No'.

Their simultaneous development of multiple cutting-edge systems, when they previously had no industry or experience, is very impressive.

I think some of that loses its luster when instead of taking pride in such advancement, hyperbole and exaggerations are used to push a jingoistic image.

How do we know they're 'cutting edge' ? That's what THEY'VE told us. Do they fly ? Sure. Are they somewhat sophisticated ? Sure. But are they, and more importantly, are their pilots all that ? They've never had to do anything. Never shot at anyone. Never had anyone shoot at them. Like Mike Tyson said, 'Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face.'

The truth is generally somewhere in the middle. A false aura of insurmountable supremacy and invincibility is exactly the kind of miscalculation that China had been hoping for, before the lid was blown off the "peaceful rise" motto.

We have about 1/4 of the operational F-22 squadrons as we should, due to the arrogance of a few cost-cutting suits in Virginia.

It would have sounded original if I wasn't said by a guy in whose country kids are being fed by dogs... In short save us the bs .. It's like a pissing contest.

China to have 1,500 fourth-gen fighters by 2020, according to Asian government estimates
Richard D Fisher Jr, Washington, DC - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
29 June 2014

An Asian government source has disclosed to IHS Jane's estimates of China's future combat aircraft fleet size and composition that are larger - and more specific - than those offered in the annual China Military Power reports published by the US Department of Defense.

The latest Pentagon report issued on 5 June 2014 sounded an alarm about China air combat forces, saying the People's Liberation Army Air Force "is pursuing modernisation on a scale unprecedented in its history and is rapidly closing the gap with Western air forces across a broad spectrum of capabilities including aircraft, command and control, jammers, electronic warfare, and datalinks".

Chinese members start to use Western reports to estimate their AF quantity?
- What is the most trusty turbojet engine mass-used in China AF for fighters?
- We doubt about the fact 4/5th gen fighters would use imported engines of 3/4th gen
The quantity would depend of how many engines imported

Without the US, all combine don't stand a chance against us.

The US has 2,000+ fighter aircraft. By 2025-2030, we can hope to match it.
By then US will have better jets. They plan to have 6th gen almost ready.
