Exactly 40 years after the 1974 Xisha Island Battle, a flotilla made up of ships from China's South China Sea Fleet set sail on January 20 from a military port in Sanya, South China’s Hainan Province, for a drill in the South China Sea, according to a CNTV report.

Fleet commander Jiang Weilie said this drill focuses on testing the combat ability of leading ships, submarines and aviation forces while exploring methods for normalized open sea drills.

If China intends to fight a war to create a diversion of the public attention,it must be in SCS. At Japan's back is US,and that piece of rock doesn't really possess any value to China. What China is doing in East Sea is just to piss Japan and Us off. the interesting part is China only send unarmed patrol ships and spy planes to East Sea. but China send real combat warships and fighter planes to SCS.

well, who cares?

btw here is a video for you, remembering one of the greatest naval victories of Vietnam over Imperial China: the battle of white river of 938. enjoy.

why have you idiot posted pics of Chinese vessels today? is it anything related to the Paracels battle?
obviously not. Japan is right, the world must stand up against Chinese hubris and aggression. You use Japanese past as pretext for military buildup and policy of intimidation.

time for Vietnam to rethink the strategy.

remember to the brave men of the South Vietnamese Navy, who fought and lost their lives in the battle.
