Korea just has no choice. Historically, Korea has always been the, to quote the old adage, "Shrimp among whales". Korea depends on China , and they see their future linked to the Chinese market. National pride is one thing, Tony, but in the end, Dollar is King. Or, in China's case, Renminbi is Emperor. ;)

Money, in the end, is what makes the world go round.

Those who support China-Korea free trade, please enlighten me what exactly China could gain from this ? Korean companies are notorious for corruption and cons in China, just search DaLian STX case. Collaborate with president's secretary, spy on Chinese military . Chinese government is deeply infiltrated by Korea, that's why China always sign agreements with Korea which is in Korea's favor.

All of these negatives will be addressed as China's Government clamps down on corruption. Let me answer your question with a rhetorical question: "How is a FTA with Beijing and Seoul damaging to China?" Do you understand that trade between Seoul and Beijing is quite significant? South Korea is a large market for Chinese goods, if performance of Samsung against Chinese electronic giants Huawei - Lenovo - Zopo -Hisense - Amoi - Aigo proves anything it is this : Koreans are opening up to foreign electronic appliances. Samsung is already beginning to lose its qualitative edge, even in its home market.

As for the rest, I'm sure that Beijing calculates that with an FTA with Seoul-- will lead to the realization of Korea's liberalized geostrategic stance on East Asian affairs.

ahahahahah....yes he is thinking like South Asians, who always quote 'security threats' for not opening up to investments/trade between them, reason they are so poor and backward(the most in Asia).lol:lol: If he wants east Asia to close up/isolate themselves from each other because of 'security threats' then give it just 5-10 years and China, Japan, Korea will be no better/poorer than their south Asian peers.:D

You have to learn to seperate business from politics, as far as trading/investing profits you/both sides, then why not keep on trading? Only naive/foolish South asian countries will quote 'security reasons/threats' as a reason they dont allow/encourage investment/trade between themselves and other foreign powers/countries. East Asians are more pragmatic and forward looking, reasont the development/wealth gap will keep increasing between these two regions.Travelling to both regions for a foreigner like me, is like travelling to north Africa and then going to the U.S/Europe. The gap is simply too large. Hope they soon come to their senses(though i doubt they will).

So keep up with your FTA and economic intergration EAST ASIA, you are the ones leading/showing an example for other countries in the region to follow. huh....well Uncle Sam is watching though.;):usflag::D

That's what I call being smart !
<渔夫很聪明。钓大鱼大钩。> Right?
:enjoy:You are really a cute man who is good at learning. But the right saying is "放长线,钓大鱼".Translating it straightly,it is "putting long thread,to angle a big fish"

Yup, Korea just using china for their goods to export and raw materials. Japan in my opinion is more friendly to Chinese from ordinary people perspective.

The difference is, Japanese have a mild mind(平常心) but according to the pool, many of them don't like Chinese. Koreans always appear to be material and vanity, you can tell from Samsung phones and Hyundai cars....all gorgeous look but fragile quality.
