Like I said we don't care about Japan investment on other part of India beside Arunachal Pradesh, but about your FM's statement, if you think that I'm over sensitive than what you think if our FM say the same about Kuril Islands.?

if Wang Yi declare that "Kuril islands are integral part of Russia but contested by Japan",we shall see if Japanese will make a mountain of a mole-hill....LMAO

I hope that it doesn't come down to that. Whatever the case, let's be cautiously optimistic instead of being always negative.

I am so damned tired of reading about negative news regarding our two nations. Its like hearing a broken record.

:(

.
Chinese are overly (and sometimes unjustifiably) sensitive for they do not trust Japanese. Unfortunately, Manchurian wounds are still seeping blood.

It is not that we don't wanna trust them, but it is the fact that they are always not trustworthy.

Japan used to backstab China so many times when she was weak.

You think I really appreciate to see negative news between our two nations? , it just happened that you're FM think to make a smart move with his brilliant declaration.

Openly stand on support India territorial dispute is an idiotically move by japan high level official, since China will object any infra development in the dispute territory, by Japan statement of supporting Arunachal Pradeeh is part of India territory, China interpretation to the move as Japan and India allied each other to legitimized their territorial claim vs China, China won't sit back allow India to develop the region without a strong respond from China.

China called on Japan to "speak and act cautiously on China-India territory disputes", Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Monday.

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida over the weekend said that Japan was ready to invest in infrastructure projects in India's landlocked northeast. He said that the projects would not be in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, but Japan did refer to it as Indian territory.

China has lodged serious representations over such remarks and demanded Japan clarify its stance to mitigate any negative effects, Hong said at a daily news briefing.

"Japan has made a clear public statement that it takes no position on, and will not get involved in, territorial disputes between China and India," Hong said.

please post the Japanese version also. Remind the Chinese that their source is an Indian newspaper. Also ask the Chinese to post a version from Chinese newspapers.

Regarding what Kishida said? Japanese media didn't even cover it. All I read was how Kishida traveled to India to emphasize greater trade and development. I don't think any of us expected a sharp reaction from China.

Anyways, prior to Kishida's trip abroad he made a pre-departure tentative schedule:

Diplomacy is so complex, my friend, and trying to understand it , I myself get confused.

But I think I understand why the Chinese side are being overly critical. Japan was invited by India to invest in its Northeast States + Union Territories. Japanese companies will have the opportunity to help the development of the northeast specially to build roads, and aid agriculture, forestry and water supply and sewerage in these states. What is also important to duly note is that the Indian Government has actively discouraged and / or rejected Chinese planned investments in the Northeast of India.
The part you are talking about is poor as hell, investing there will yield next to nothing.

I doubt Japan will be that desperate to invest its money, China has those same areas, and we have to force our state ran companies to waste, I mean "invest" there.

So it is understandable why our Chinese colleagues would be overly sensitive of this 'preferential treatment' the Government of India has on Japan. China's reaction to this -- is being projected to Japan , as I'm sure Beijing does not want to (aggressively that is) over-criticize India due to the precarious relationship they have regarding border areas.
The thing about money is there's no shortage of people wanting it, if India is really pragmatic, they will let us invest, if not, it wouldn't be the right time toe invest, and we will wait until they think it over and see how it goes.

Ethiopia, and a few other African countries as well as ASEAN are nice investment countries.

Who knows, maybe ignoring investment due to "security" concerns is not a big deal and can still lead to success.

I understand your reaction. But, friend, Japan IS NOT going to be building anything in disputed Arunachal Pradesh. I reiterate, there will be ZERO (0%) Japanese development in that disputed territory. JICA will be focused on developing roads, sewage systems, manufacturing and agricultural projects in areas that are much further to the south. Areas include Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, and Manipur.

Please, friend, don't be too overly-sensitive. Okay?

I don't think it matters, I'm sure Xi can't be like, sorry your son died, but, if you look close we got this little piece of shit hole that's worth nothing, and kept this other piece of hole that nobody wants.

Build whatever, when the time is right, we will solve it, by just keeping what we have, the "west" is neglected for a reason.

As i said earlier. Arunachal Pradesh is not part of JICA's investment plan. Don't make a mountain of a mole-hill -- in your irritation, friend.

I say invest, invest all you want, but I'm not sure how profitable it is.

India is just a laugh stock of 21st century, Indians can jump of joy of Japanese FM delcaration for short period of time than have to crawl back once again to the negociation table appointed by China to an XX round over the territory dispute and ironically they're so promptly and missed no rendez-vous.

Very well said. We have no position on that territory (Arunachal Pradesh).

I beg to differ.

Again. Please read into the development(s) in this region.

You know it's Japan who is the one provoking China. Despite having an agreement on the disputed island, Japan made the mistake of antagonizing China and now Kishida feel the urge to meddle AP's sovereignty between China and India. On the other hand China has never made any statement in regards to the Dokdo and Kuril disputes. Japan is sadly undiplomatic with right wing politicians running the show. This will only jeopardize closer ties if politicians keep making blunders.

I wouldn't be too quick to declare this area as being unprofitable. This region --- which has a contiguous border with Myanmar ( a country that Japan has substantial investments in -- and is looking forward to developing, infrastructure-wise) -- has the potential to become a new strategic crossroads. As you probably know -- the development of Bangladesh is also part of the plan. Northeast India - Bangladesh - ASEAN --- is going to be big, big, in the future. :)

what did the Japanese FM say in the meeting with the Indian was all the cause of the controversies
The Japanese FM had 3 options to present their stance but he chose the stupidiest one for trouble.
Not until we counter-attacked the ridiculous remarks then the Japanese retreats

NEW DELHI – Japan has vowed to play a more active role in promoting international peace and stability, calling for increased cooperation with India in ensuring an order based on democratic values and the rule of law.

“Japan will continue even more actively to contribute to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region and the world under the banner of ‘Proactive Contribution to Peace,’ based on the principle of international cooperation,” Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said in New Delhi on Saturday in his first policy speech this year, which marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II.

Citing Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s remarks at a New Year’s news conference, Kishida said that based on “profound remorse” about the war, Japan has built a democratic state that has consistently upheld human rights and the rule of law over 70 years and has followed the path of a peace-loving nation.

“Universal values such as democracy, freedom, open economy and the rule of law are indispensable for the Indo-Pacific region to remain stable and prosperous, and to shine as the center of the world,” he told the Indian Council of World Affairs. “I would like to emphasize that leadership from both countries (Japan and India) is essential for the Indo-Pacific region to foster an order supported by democratic values, open economy and the rule of law.”

Referring to the recent terrorist attacks in France, Kishida called on the global community to “make all-out efforts” in the fight against terrorism. “Japan resolutely condemns any forms of terrorism, including the terrorism incident in Paris,” he said.

Citing a terrorism incident in Algeria two years ago, in which 10 Japanese were killed during an attack on an energy facility, and terrorist strikes in India in the recent past, Kishida said that “terrorism is a real danger to Japan and India. Let us firmly confront terrorism.”

In the face of China’s military buildup and assertive behavior in the East and South China seas, Kishida urged countries to respect the rule of law and not to use force or coercion in asserting their territorial claims, and called for increased cooperation with India in the field of maritime security.

“It is important to further strengthen our cooperation through defense equipment cooperation including the US-2 amphibian aircraft and Japan’s continued participation” in India-U.S. maritime exercises, he said. “We should even more proactively assume our responsibilities to protect ‘open and stable seas’ under our special partnership.”

Kishida expressed determination to work with India, Brazil and Germany to reform the U.N. Security Council, especially as this year also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. “In order to adequately respond to the rapidly increasing and evolving challenges of the 21st century, we must expand the number of both permanent and nonpermanent members of the Security Council to reflect the realities of the current international community,” he said.
