KABUL: China has proposed Quetta-Kabul and Peshawar-Kabul railway Line to link Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to Afghan Presidential Palace.

A statement issued here says, the proposal was put forward by Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Kong Xuanyou in a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani this week.

Xuanyou said that Afghanistan is of vital importance for the economic belt of China. He recommended initiation of trilateral discussions involving Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan over Peshawar, Kabul and Quetta railways as well as economic corridors and regional cooperation.

Welcoming the Chinese proposal of Quetta-Kabul and Peshawar-Kabul railway tracks, Ashraf Ghani said Afghanistan wants to have good ties and friendly relations with all its neighbors for the progress and prosperity of entire region.

Oh, don''t worry, the current Government backed by India will fall...then this initiative will take place once Kabul is pro Pakistan/China.

Why is that my friend? Security concerns?

Brother the Afghan Government with the backing of the Indian Intelligence is supporting the TTP who have an alliance with the Uighur terrorists. This initiative will take place only when Pakistan will change the tune of Kabul which is happening as we speak. 40% of Afghanistan is controlled by the Taliban and they are making more gains in the country. The ISI has pushed Gulbuddin Hekmatyar to the peace table and now we have a voice in their parliament. Ghani can whine...however, soon he will be a refugee in his own home and then he can beg the American's to take him in.

.
Pakistan would welcome all brotherly and friendly ties with Afghanistan, however, Afghans are currently under occupation and are unable to express their own views freely. Unfortunately, Afggabs are told to behave in certain ways in respect to Pakistan otherwise it will affect the aid they receive from Pakistan's enemy.

Don't think these Afghnais worth it. They are backstabbers and from day 1 they are in Indian hands. Extremely against of giving any route to these morons in CPEC.

It's only a recommendation. China know it's hard to implement.

Good initiative. CN-PK has tremendous vested interests (Aynak copper field, Hajigak iron ore, Amu Darya natural gas, Badakshan-Takhar-Ghazn gold, etc) in Afghanistan, if not the largest, upgrading connectivity with CN-PK is the way to go. CN-PK team can offer funds, markets, tech and perhaps military/security as well, let's continue to engage Afghanistan deeper.

It would minimize the desire of Afghanistan to open a rail link through Iran. So why not?

The initiative is good when the time is right...Ghani an Indian stooge and he won't last long if you look at the ground realities of Afghanistan. How will they use a railway link into Iran when it runs into Taliban territory?.

Should do that. this will help both countries improve trade ties as well as create possibility of linking central Asian countries with CPEC.

A railway track takes years to plan and build, not mentioning the difficult mountain areas between Pak and Afghan. I don’t warry much about Indian influence there. As long as there is a peace deal among the Afghans China would help Afghans to rebuild their home and promote trade relationship between Pak and Afghanistan. India can‘t do much on this!

Brother your analysis is correct. Pakistan is using it's soft and hard power in Afghanistan to make the Kabul Government realize it's folly in allowing the Indian Intelligence to attack Pakistan from its territory. Our hard power is the utilization of the Haqqani Network and they control the operations of the Taliban. This year they now control 40% of Afghanistan and the figure is steadily rising. In addition the causality and desertion ration is rising in the ANSF. Brother you may ask why Pakistan is doing this? The answer is simple...the TTP are funded, trained and armed by RAW, NDS, CIA to destabilize Pakistan. This same group was in alliance with the Uighur terrorists who killed hundreds of Pakistani's. So Afghanistan will have to change it's tune. ISI soft power was using Gulbuddin Hekmatyar to do a peace deal with the Kabul regime. This means Pakistan has a big significant voice in their parliament..and since he comes from one of the biggest clans in Afghanistan from the Pashtun community this means the future vote would go to him rather than Ghani/Karzai. He is definitely pro Pakistan...because he and his entire family still live in Peshawar with our protection of course. Every thing is falling into place brother...American power has dwindled in the country and trade will increase when the time is right. Afghan resources will go to Pakistan/Chinese companies and trade relations will increase....but when the time is right.
