China Protests Against Korea Donating Warship to Philippines

They donated this corvette, and selling 12 of these to the Philippine Air Force, whilst at the same time "embracing China as a brother". Very sound strategy for the Koreans. Impressive, I will say. ^^,

Very good strategy by Koreans. I heard Japan too also has plan to give them boats? is it true?

Wow they really have a good heart for donating that to Philippines for free.

They're donating it for free due to the Philippines' involvement during the Korean War, that is what I have read about this donation news.

Yes, we will be supplying them with vessels to augment their Coast Guard Fleet. We are giving them 10.

Yes, they are appreciative of the Philippine and Korean relationship. It should also be noted that the Chinese Ambassador had requested South Korea to abrogate the plans to give the Pohang Class corvette and to cease sales of the FA-50 Eagle to the Philippines.

South Korea said no. She is going on with previous plans. Very kind and considerate of our Korean friends.

Oh wow that is going to open up a huge can of worms.

The Russians have already voiced concern, and so have China. From what I know, South Korea has been silent in regards to their objection(s). She (ROK) is , afterall, an American Ally. Just this July, the Korean, Japanese and United States Navies practiced ABMC (anti ballistic missile capabilities) in the Sea of Japan.

To the consternation of the Chinese, North Koreans, of course.

Strangely, the Chinese government seem to make a request to South Korea NOT to sell or donate weapons to us but is quiet when Vietnam procure weapons. I guess they do plan something to the Philippines in the future, if this idea from a hawkish PLA general is to be believed.

A puppet has no choice but heed to the puppeteer. That's why they remain silent.

They will do nothing. Unlike Vietnam, the Philippines is now housing United States 7th Fleet vessels openly. Americans are now also in WESTCOM bases in Puerto Princessa , Palawaan. And there have been talks about the United States to develop the naval base in Palawaan for Allied Navies.

Soon, my friend, there will be American, Japanese and Philippine naval ships docking there for Peaceful Interoperability exercises.

Despite the media's portrayal of Chinese - Korean friendship / brotherhood, the Koreans know which poses an existential threat for them. Trust me, it is not the United States or Japan.

Right next to the Spratlys...they are taking things seriously.

I wonder who else they'll try and give base rights to...India maybe.

Just impressive how 'tamed' China can become as soon as Uncle Sammy comes to the block. LOL!

Well I mean, 10 Carrier Battle Groups (all nuclear) can be very diplomatic...

My guess is they are going to build a corridor for military ships of multiple countries to perpetually bounce between South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines 20 miles off the shoreline of China to be a perpetual irritation.

That's will make South China sea a busy corridor and sea lane, militarily. You all, i mean for all big guys in the block should ratified code of conduct on how to navigating your Navy in peace time operation while at South China Sea. It will be a disaster if some incidents made all of the already messy condition in South China Sea going worsen.

Japanese and Koreans have very choice, you don't have a choice whether its US or China. Great powers will always dictate smaller countries who rely on great powers.
