Corruption does not choose its race

I am still a big fan of democracy and have not change my mind.

I am also consistent that USA may break up.

I am just thinking the form of democracy that best suites China. Of course not the USA wall street style.

I'll mark your words for that cause I have not had that impression of yours all along

You should think about emigrating to some other "democratic" places
Singapore is not for you. India is your option

You have to be patient
Bashing blindly many times with your diatribes prove nothing in return to change China's system and definitely not in a drastic way

China will get there in a system that will best suit for our own

Many Chinese flagged members here are well aware of what true democracy and human rights are as long as they are not used as conduits for toppling our government

Dont hold your moral high grounds as you are just naive in many aspects promoting your own version of deluded ideas, possibly with a hidden agenda

Why cant you speak out against a government like Singpore more, and now

ps I am not the one that you should blame on for your time-outs if you have doubts
You can voice what you want but dont bullshit

Lol that's bo xilais son who studied /lived here in U. K while his father sang the praises of mao and communism. Lool there are hundreds /thousands more ccp officials who also do the same while sending all their kids /family to study /live in the same evil west /U. s they condemn everyday. Talk about hypocrisy. Lol

To be honest though, you can't blame just PDF PRC members, since many other citizens/members from other countries think the same.e.g Indians think highly of their modi even if/when he does something wrong etc.

Politicians in general are liars /hypocrites/ruthless individuals, that's what makes them politicians in the first place, if you don't have this qualities then you can't be a politician in the first place. :agree: it's for this reason that I never ever trust any politician whatsoever, nor do I have any high hopes about them, much less keenly defend them, since Im not naive about how politics works. So never get your hopes high when it comes to politicians. In short :NEVER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM POLITICIANS AND YOU WILL NEVER BE DISSAPOINTED. :bounce:

USA throw a nuclear bomb against China anti-corruption drive

Sons and Daughters: U.S. Seeks Details on Wang Qishan in J.P. Morgan Probe - China Real Time Report - WSJ

U.S. Seeks Details on Top China Official Amid Bank-Hiring Probe - WSJ

35 people including Wang Qishan emails summoned by USA in connection with their probe of J.P. Morgan Chase hiring of relatives PRC officials. Wang Qishan is boss of China anti-corruption.

This is quite interesting that why now and why USA is investigating Wang Qishan, who is the cleanest leaders in China today. The Jiang Zemin Shanghai clique that is infinitely more corrupt are spared. Meanwhile USA newspaper keep leaking the Xi-Hu-Wen faction of corruption despite they are far more cleaner.

Before USA just allowed her newspaper to leak China leaders' scandal. Right now, it is more serious, the USA escalate her drive against Xi faction by asking Justice Department to prob on Wang Qishan.

USA over the years has amass an incredible number of informers of former PRC elites, who fled USA with their ill-gotten wealth. These informers and Jiang Zemin faction has a lot of bullets of insider information against Xi faction.

It is in USA interest to prevent Xi Jinping's initiative to purge CPC and consolidate power, and so that CPC continue to rot and USA continue to have blackmailing material. In short, the move of USA is akin to helping Jiang Zemin faction.

Corruption has hurt China and we will foresee USA using blackmail material against China on all critical junctions.

USA investigating Wang Qishan for Corruption

Carry on the investigation
If found guilty, give him the sentence and look for a substitute
If found innocent, an american apology is the least compensation to Wang
Its just SOP for the country to purge the system
It will go on for some time
No need to get orgasmic over all these

Lool what do you expect? ? The U. S does what is best for it's interests like every other power. I wouldn't expect them to do otherwise. :D
So blame your party system, since it doesn't want to set up an independent judiciary which can probe the party itself independent of any political meddling(fearing maybe almost the whole party top leadership will collapse/ end up behind bars, as they all seem to have dirty hands. Lol) . So don't expect any help from the West /U. S. China has to tackle it by itself. :bounce::usflag:

China police boss, petrol Tsar get life imprisonment. The trial is a slap of wrist because it did not accuse Zhou and more serious wrong doings.

This is a political compromise.

The Trial of Zhou Yongkang and China’s Rule of Law | The Diplomat

Zhou Yongkang, the first Politburo Standing Committee member to be indicted for corruption in the history of the People’s Republic of China, was tried on May 22 behind closed doors, and his verdict was announced on June 11. Compared to the trial of Bo Xilai, former Politburo member and former party secretary of Chongqing, the trial of Zhou was much more mysterious.

In spite of public assurances of an open and transparent trial by Supreme People’s Court officials, including SPC President Zhou Qiang, the No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court of Tianjin decided that Zhou’s case would be tried in secret because his case involves state secrets. According to Xinhua’s report, the alleged offense was simply that he passed on six classified documents (five categorized as “top secret” and one “secret”) to Cao Yongzheng, a qinggong-master-cum-business entrepreneur who claims to have strong capacities in extrasensory perception (ESP). The offense, the court assessed, was very serious but without particularly serious consequences. Zhou was sentenced for four years in jail for his crime of “intentional disclosure of state secrets.” Apparently, this was a petty crime, on the scale of larceny — but still enough to justify as secret trial despite earlier SPC promises.

According to the public releases, Zhou’s trial didn’t touch on his “non-organizational political activities.” Though not exactly a legal term, this offense, referencing political activities outside the aegis of the Party leadership, is probably the most important reason why Zhou was expelled from the Party and placed under criminal investigation. Nevertheless, in China “non-organizational political activities” are not criminal offenses and Zhou was not convicted for those actions.

Instead, Zhou was sentenced to seven years in jail because of his “abuse of power.” According to the report, Zhou asked Jiang Jiemin (former general manager and chairman of the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation or CNPC) and Li Chuncheng (former deputy party secretary of Sichuan) to provide assistance to Zhou Bin (Zhou’s son), Zhou Feng (Zhou’s nephew), Zhou Yuanqing (Zhou’s brother), He Yan (a business woman in Sichuan), and Cao Yongzheng in their business operations. According to media reports of the trial, Zhou’s relatives and friends gained “illicit” profits amounting to 2.1 billion yuan ($338 million), causing economic losses of 1.5 billion yuan ($241 million). It could be true that the people named in the case profited because of Zhou’s connection. But it is not clear how the court proved that these were illicit profits causing economic losses to the state.

Finally, Zhou was sentenced to life imprisonment for taking a huge amount of bribes. According to the report, Zhou personally only took bribes of less than one million yuan, accepting a bribe of 731,100 yuan (about $117,000) from Jiang Jiemin. But Zhou’s wife (Jia Xiaoye) and son (Zhou Bin) took bribes of 129 million yuan ($20 million) on his behalf.

Apparently, the Chinese leadership under Xi Jinping is determined to fight corruption and establish the rule of law in China. Should Zhou have been publicly tried, at least for the charges relating to abuse of power and bribery, there would be more confidence in China’s future development as a country with the rule of law.

Qiao Shi, China reformist is dead. He was the rival of Jiang Zemin. Jiang was from the conservative wing of CPC while Qiao was centrist, with slight inclination to Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang. Qiao Shi was widely respected for being "relatively clean" scrupulous and highly capable.

Jiang Zemin is the man of conservative elements such as Chen Yun, Bo Yibo.

The hardcore CPC who keep shouting Marxism and Maoism are today the fatest oligarch in China. The reformist are far cleaner.

It is unfortunate that Deng Xiaoping bowed to Chen Yun and allowed the conservative Jiang Zemin to take power. Jiang Zemin was responsible for 20 years of runaway corruption in China. Today Xi Jinping is cleaning Jiang Zemin's shit.

Xi is reformist lineage. His father keep protecting Hu Yaobang. Since Xi ascend, the reformist are slightly in upper hand.

The fight in China today is a continuation of fight between Hu Yaobang/Zhao Ziyang, vs Chen Yun.

Former China Politburo Member Qiao Shi Dies at 91, Xinhua Says - Bloomberg Business

Qiao Shi, who once led China’s parliament and was the nation’s third-ranked leader, died this morning in Beijing, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. He was 91.

Qiao, who was chairman of the National People’s Congress and a Politburo member, died after an unspecified illness, according to the report.

The Shanghai native retired from all his posts in 1997 after former President Jiang Zemin came to power. Qiao was seen as a liberal challenger to Jiang, urging state-run firms to take more risks in reforming themselves and calling for a legal system to protect fair competition and promote market development.

Holding multiple roles throughout his career, Qiao also served as the country’s security chief, after joining the Chinese Communist Party at the age of 15, Xinhua said.

Stop meddling in politics: Chinese President Xi Jinping's coded message to Jiang Zemin | South China Morning Post

With People's Daily, it's all about reading between the lines and this week some China watchers are seeing a pointed message in the Communist Party mouthpiece aimed at former president Jiang Zemin.

A commentary on Monday lambasted unnamed "retired leaders" for clinging to power and causing rifts within the party. It was followed yesterday by an article on the website of the overseas edition chronicling how late paramount leader Deng Xiaoping and his archrival Chen Yun worked together to establish a retirement system for party leaders.

There was no mention, though, of the "old men" era of politics of the 1980s and 1990s when the so-called Eight Elders held on to the reins of power long after their official retirement.

As ever, context is everything, with the articles being published as leaders are believed to be meeting at an informal summit at the seaside resort of Beidaihe to make important national decisions.

Several analysts said the articles were a sign of how much President Xi Jinping wanted Jiang, who retired from his last top job in 2004, to stay out of politics.

Bo Zhiyue, professor of political science at Victoria University of Wellington, said the message was plain.

"Clearly, Xi used People's Daily to send a message to Jiang to stop meddling in politics," Bo said.

Warren Sun, professor of Chinese Studies at Monash University, said it was a fresh warning to party elders such as Jiang and ally and former vice-president Zeng Qinghong to stop trying to destabilise the administration.

"We can only hope it's not merely for the … convenience of the present leadership, but the beginning of a virtually impossible effort to achieve a 'new norm' that formally ends 'old-man politics', and more importantly, creates a more healthy political culture at every level of the gigantic Chinese bureaucracy," Sun said.

Steve Tsang, chair of the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Nottingham, said Jiang - rather than former premier Zhu Rongji or former president Hu Jintao - was the most influential of the retired leaders.

"It is therefore difficult to avoid the conclusion that the message is directed to all interfering elders, including Jiang," Tsang said. "There is no mention of Zhu, who probably was the most exemplary of the retired, or of Hu, who handed over all top offices when his time was up. Jiang did the opposite of what Zhu and Hu did."

Xi's much-publicised drive against corruption has ensnared a long list of senior officials, many of whom were Jiang's close allies, including former security tsar Zhou Yongkang , and Xu Caihou and Guo Boxiong , both of whom were vice-chairmen of the Central Military Commission.

But the analysts agreed it did not mean Xi would pursue Jiang any time soon.

"It should not be assumed that Xi is now going to purge Jiang. It is more like a shot across the bow to make it clear to Jiang and his followers that Xi is now drawing a line there," Tsang said.
