He specialises in Pakistan - so its no surprise his articles are about Pakistan.
Gul's policies benefitted Pakistan a lot, and we don't need an Indian to tell us what benefitted us and what didnt. Hamid Gul was a visionary and a man ahead of his time. He was the single handed destructer of USSR, a marvel of Pakistani generalship. I wish we had more Hamid Guls and today Kashmir would have been free.
I've read his articles and he's called into question Gul's policies - which do not seem to have benefited Pakistan much. Apart from his work as ISI chief - which Kugelman notes was a success by the standards of ISI - he mostly made several preposterous claims that nobody - whether US or Pakistani has corroborated (some of the more silly one - such as the one about US forces carrying Osama;s body from Afghanistan to Pakistani to stage a capture - has not been confirmed even by Gul's own pals - the taliban or Hafiz).
You are free to read his articles on Dawn - had he been as abusive as you are Dawn would have stopped his writing long ago.
Kugelman's analysis has been confirmed by nearly everybody who analyses South Asia. Here's a gem of an article.
